Whatever be the look, who cares, as long as it delivers and its ours!!

It looks cheap, rusty and very old. Just more junk from DRDO. Typical. Maybe it can be donated to a museum before it becomes another underwater tomb for the Indian sailors like that other one a few years back.

Well said !!
Exactly my thoughts ..

Um, it looks fine actually. As along as it can spit K4s and K15s it'll be fine.

I wish to see most countries even produce this "junk" let alone the missiles for it.

Never judge a book by it's cover.

It looks fine. Lord, since when have looks been a prerequisite for a weapon's system? If that's the case, people should drive Ferraris onto the battle field. Just strap a grenade launcher and 50 cal gun on and you should be fine, after all you will look be looking great in it when you die.

The submarine is there to do a job i.e. be India's second strike capability, something India has put a great deal of work in, to their credit. The SLBM is ready, the vessel is nearly there, what more do you want?

If that vessel was produced by Pakistan I would be proud.

That, and it's also a tech demo of much larger and more capable future SSBMs.

How comes? Hasn't the Indian Navy earned a reputation for sinking its flag ship and a submarine in recent years all due to extremely poor quality of its war machines?

1. You blamed DRDO for creating junks. INS Sindhurakshak was neither built by DRDO nor upgraded by DRDO.

2. The Indian Navy sure has earned a bad name over the explosion of that docked sub and a few other accidents. But they don't build submarines. They merely operate them.

3. None of the ships or submarines operated by the Indian Navy failed any quality checks. Any submarine will sink if torpedoes explode inside it. The sabotage angle too hasn't been ruled out yet.

4. The submarine that sank was not the flagship of the Navy.
