Nawaz shareef hints at Army behind protest

Well another fall of democracy In Pakistan soon it will confirmed.I was sure about it after I saw gen Hamid gul I protest standing with kadri and imraan khan
cant say that gov will fail or not but army will be beneficiary.

Look at all those hot, Pakistani babes in the vid. It's no surprise that PDF has a substantial male, Indian following. :P

I don't buy this story that the army is behind IK and Qadri, nor do I believe that the army is trying to commit a coup. I don't for one second believe anything will occur. The complete support for a vast majority of both major and minor parties in Pakistan has proven one thing, no one wants NS to resign or be taken out of power. The army will not be able to do such a thing, neither the public, nor the judiciary will tolerate such an extra-constitutional act.

Army has issue it's statement that it won't intervene in the politics. Army even put stress on politicians to start reasonable dialogues without delay of anytime. I don't think that Pak army will interfere because it's busy in the north western part of country fighting against Taliban. And in past couple of days indian army is violating LOC cease fire agreement. So I don't think Army will come or behind the protest, but yes army will put pressure on government to abstain from any blood shed.

But one is inclined to raise an eyebrow when IK mentions an Umpire raising his finger. The manipulation of these events have a khaki scent to them; be it retired or serving.

coup is not the only fruit to eat,it can further marginalize nawaz govt and run it like lame duck .

bloody fools - Army is the one trying to mediate here....and even this mediation role they've been DRAGGED into it

this is a pattern...civilians **** around and act like a bunch of school girl shyte heads....Army does nothing. Civvies continue their ziyati and keep the nation bogged down in political crises, begging army to intervene. Army says we will not intervene - but willing to play constructive role by safeguarding borders but also the cities (because you asked us to). Army meets with those in power, meets with opposition - tries to create middle ground.

then suddenly Army is supposedly "taking sides" and "meddling" in politics

what a truly disgusting state of affairs.....Army has no interest to be involved since there are other PRESSING issues, and you have people hinting or saying outwardly that Army is "meddling"

So what? He's been retired since 1989 and is a civilian now. What's your point?

going by the same logic india is a failed democracy since you have people like Lt. Gen. (r) GD Bakshi who openly take sides in elections and make political statements (symbolic or otherwise) :what:

Not trying to call you out publicly brother - but I have to. Those "babes" are somebody sister or daughter....why would you talk about them like that in that manner

Perhaps modi move was good not to talk to them as it was clear completely that diplomatic policy making is now once again in Army's hand

on foreign relations like relations with india - Army does have a say....a lot of countries are like that, not just Pakistan. But of course being indian you'd obsess over anything related to PA since its the cause of ALL your problems in india right

however your post has little substance or credibility. It was a policy undertaken by the FO, and reflective of the sentiment of all Pakistanis not just the Army. You can be assured on that.

Apologies for any offence caused. I was attempting to humour the forum by playing the average Indian. If it so pleases this thread, I'll delete it. Should I?

The army overthrew an ineffective govt. in 1999.....they did that without giving off mere scents or trying to create "upheavals" of any kind (the nation supported it)

in this case, if the Army wanted to they wouldve de-throned him rest-assured. Many Pakistanis again are in favour of that. Only this time the Army is telling the people on both spectrums to sort out their mess, only playing a mediatory role when possible. Army has more important things to focus on like safeguarding and keeping an eye on things on the border on 2 fronts - north and the east

It is more of an ever pervasive and undeniably foul stench, not a mere scent, that cannot be hidden no matter how much holy eau-de-patriotism is sprinkled over it.

Perhaps, but until we get some sort of undeniable evidence, I have no reason to believe that the military is involved in anything more than in a mediating position.

The fact that every opposition party (other than PTI, PAT and PML-Q) has given full support to NS, I highly doubt that such an occurrence will take place. Especially since PPP has lent support to NS. The PPP knows that if they give NS full support, and undermine any efforts from PTI and supposedly the miltiary, they will be in a better position if they ever come back to power.

No one wants the democratic system to fail, and it won't. NS is going to survive this, and he's going to come out of it stronger than ever.
