Government would provide all possible resources to South Punjab to raise living standard of the masses, said Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif while presiding over a meeting at Tayyip Erdogan Hospital on Thursday.

Shahbaz said the hospital constructed with the help of the Turkish government would consist of 500 beds and patients from other cities would also benefit from it.

He said all arrangements for the hospital had been completed which would be operational from June 18.

The CM said staff, including doctors, would arrive at the hospital from Turkey to provide their services in the hospital at least for one year.

The CM also approved provision of gas to Emine Erdogan Danish Care Girls High School at a cost of Rs 44 million.

He directed the administration to install solar panel system instead of generators to provide uninterrupted power supply to the school.

He hinted at construction of a similar school for boys for which funds were already earmarked.

He directed to start bus service from Muzaffargarh city to the hospital and school directly.

Shahbaz ordered to depute medical staff for 50 houses of Turkish Model village with foolproof security arrangements, including installation of CCTV cameras.

Earlier, Health Secretary Ejaz Muneer and Education Secretary Abdul Jabbar Shaheen gave briefing to the CM over construction and arrangements at the hospital and school.

The CM was informed that Emine Erdogan Danish Care Girls School would start work from upcoming September under supervision of the Danish School Authority and Care Foundation.

This is really good. But there are lots of 'but's' and 'if's'.

The Sharif's haven't even made their complete cabinets. All the important business ministers are in the hands of the two brothers in the province and in the center. How can you imagine something good with this state of mind.

The South Punjab needs some basic infrastructure. Most important is the separate provincial status. The separate status will only be viable when there would be third 'Sharif' on the scene. Then one Sharif at the center, one at the Punjab and one would be in the Southern Punjab.

With this state of mind, what good you are accepting from these 'Sharif's'. They are worse than the 'Not-Sharif's'.
