India's NSG In Full Kit

Their shooting skills have never been in question. It's mobility that needs improvement.

Read the comments also. I stand corrected I think. It seems the police lacked shooting skills. Whereas NSG lacked equipment, mobility and POOR TACTICS. Besides 26/11, the parliament attacks in 2001 is a stain on their capabilties.

The NSG was not involved during the parliament attacks. It was the CRPF contingent that thwarted that attack. The bravery of constable Kamlesh Kumari of the 88 mahila battalion of the RAF, for which she was awarded the highest peacetime gallantry award, was especially noteworthy - not only was she the first to notice the attackers and confront them, but with eleven bullets in her, she managed to raise the alarm before she passed away.

i dont believe MP5 is best one...it is good in close combat but not that much compared to Ak ....i have MP5 A2 and i fired alot ..and if you asked my opinion about this SMG i will say Iss se kutta bhi nai marta ...

you guys don't have SWAT team right ?
Each Indian Police dept has their own Rapid Action Force teams and Armed Police teams - but US-style SWAT teams are effectively the SPG, NSG & CRPF. SInce most police won't ever face armed assault threats of the magitude US police usually does, having individual SWAT teams does not make sense.

AK is definitely much better at med to long ranges. But almost all police encounters (even terrorist related ones) will be at close range. There MP5 is as accuarate and deadly as an AK or M16, but much more easy to handle, carry & aim due to their smaller size & lower kick.

WHAT THE FUCAK ARE YOU POSTING!?

This BS blog article says following:

"The Indian National Security Guard (NSG) have stooped pretty low. They are claiming part of the reason the Mumbai terror attacks were so deadly was because the terrorists were carrying MP5s and the NSG Commandos only had AK-47s. DNA India reports":

Was this piece of crap written by a 5 years old kid? :hitwall:

And no, you dont stand corrected, but you now appear kinda stupid.

Dude, read the link he posted, he either does not have any clue what he is talking about or he has never even took a glance at his "sources"

you guys don't have SWAT team right ?

Almost every state police has swat teams now

MP5 is more deadly than AK says Indian Commando - The Firearm Blog
Buzz off troll. MP-5 is the standard issue primary weapon for most assaulters as it is simply the go-to CQB weapon for almost every specialised unit in the world. Having said that post 26/11 the NSG has actively increased the number of 5.56mm assault rifles within their teams so now a typical NSG HIT (their terminology for an assault team made up of 8-10 members) will have 1-2 men with a SIG-552 rifle firing 5.56mm rounds for longer-range engagements, 1 breacher with a shotgun and the rest with MP-5s. It is a pretty ideal mix for what the NSG is mandated to do.

Ak-47s for the NSG is a no-go, a) they are too long and bulky for CQB b) the risks of over-penertration in a CQB environment with hostages running around and the like is just too great with a 7.62mm round.

Leave it to the professionals (NSG) to do their job you don't know more than them do you?

Looks good, but I hope they have changed their training to include more time at the gun range!
Lack of time at a gun range was never an issue. The NSG operators are some of the best trained and most capable intervention operators in the world and an MP-5 in their hands is deadly, on an average training day they will go through over 200 rounds of ammo and they train for the "double tap" i.e. 2 rounds to the head and they are experts at this. There is one training procedure the NSG and all other Indian SOFs do and that is they have a target at 50m-70ms with their team-mate standing right next to it. The Shooter has to hit the target at that range with the margin for error being zero for obvious reasons.

Now obviously being a professional force the NSG have analysed what went wrong on 26/11 and taken steps to address these issues but very few of the issues were related to a lack of training or time at the gun range but issues to do with a lack of certain specialised or even basic equipment not to mention not having access to a a/c for a long period of time, a lack of blueprints etc etc

Almost every issues raised by 26/11 has been addressed to date, I can put my hand on my heart and say that.

BUT NSG Vs Garuda's Vs Marcos who is better ?? Please i know their roles are different and shyt but i am curios .
Bro you've pointed it out yourself, this is an unanswerable question. Anyway the NSG can't be compared to the Military SOFs- Garuds, MARCOs or PARA (SF) as the NSG isn't a SOF but a specialist intervention/CT unit under civilian control (MHA).

As such the scope of the NSG's capabilities, training and mandate is very narrow and focused i.e. Hostage Rescue, CQB, CI etc whereas the true SOFs of India have a much broader training regime. Then to compare the respective SOFs (Garuds, MARCOs and PARA (SF) ) is an almost impossible task it really is because of the different nature of their roles and employment, differences in deployments and experience levels and their respective duties. It's like having a DELTA vs DEVGRU debate, you can't categorically say which is better.

Anywho, what is clear is that India has some of the finest SOFs and specialist intervention units around.

Check out the video at 1:00 for the original footage.

They seem to have multiple guns, not just MP5 - what's the gun at 1:21?

IMHO they dropped the ball on the optic.
It's not bad for what it is.

They also have EO TECH (guy on the left is SPG, guy on the right is NSG):
