Mass protests sweep Gilgit Baltistan

The Longest protest in history of the territory is just like any protest on hike of petrol prices in Lahore ??? You are better than that But Sahib ......

@Armstrong is right. These protests are just like any protest in Karachi or Lahore. Wheat subsidy or load shedding or increase in taxes are the kind of issues we see in Karachi and Lahore too. No need to give false hope to Indians. Khushi sai mar jaye gai. :D

Did the report say so or did you assume it yourself ?? Why so defensive and insecure ?

He is answering an Indian if you have missed that part.

BC peshab having wet dreams again. People are demanding GB to be made province, but we cant let Kashmiris in India suffer. making LoC IB mean end of article 370 in IoK. Make no mistake, GB people hate your kind more then even Pakistanis in other provinces.

Ha....so the Gilgit Baltistani all parties representation considers themselves part of a disputed territory.....So much for "Azad" Kashmir and the constant rhetoric of Pakistanis that Pakistan Occupied Kashmiris consider themselves a part of the Pakistani nation....

Disputed territory as per your county's occupation of Kashmir. They don't consider themselves apart from Pakistanis. Remember they were amongst the first to slaughter the Dogra army and fight for unification of Pakistan. Gilgit Scouts horrah!

By the way I am a "Pakistani occupied" Azad Kashmiri and we are as Pakistani as anyone else.

Hmmmmm interesting indeed.

Maybe giving the source a read would be worthwhile as would checking out some other wonderful specimen of journalism by them : Green Left Weekly

Likewise the understanding that we've centered the entire article around a 'progressive journalist' who no one has heard of and a
a party that managed to get 18,650 votes out of more than 84 million votes cast shedding some light on their electoral credentials !

There are protests there just like there are protests here in Lahore about the hike in petrol prices - Nothing to spin a story of perpetual agony out of ! :undecided:

Clearly you will notice that I am simply making observations on a news report that your countrymen initially posted...Seems that it was credible enough and good enough journalistic piece for him to share with his countrymen....

The rest of what you said may very well be true, but even you have to agree that not all is hunky dory is Pakistan occupied Kashmir and there are people that consider it a disputed area contrary to the popular belief among PDF Pakistanis..

@Peshwa

Gilgit–Baltistan has never been formally integrated into the Pakistani state and does not participate in Pakistan's constitutional political affairs . Officially, Pakistan has rejected Gilgit–Baltistani calls for integration with Pakistan on the grounds that it would prejudice its international obligations with regard to the Kashmir dispute.

That's true but the same also applies to our region Azad Kashmir.

Our Darda brothers have genuine demands.

I was responding to the thought process instigated by our Indian friends when they zero-in on something written in an article which quotes a party that no one in Pakistan gives a foOk about and an arbitrarily chosen 'progressive journalist' that no one has really ever heard of and go 'deekhaaa....deekhaa hum nei tou kahaa thaaa'

I've got family from GB so I don't need to be insecure or defensive about it !

So you want to say that you do not give a foOk about what people of Gilgit Baltistan want ?

Sher Sahib is sleep deprivation preventing you from comprehending what I wrote or is it a bad crop this season ?

No one, including the people of Gilgit Baltistan, gives a foOk about the Party that is presented as the voice of the downtrodden and the oppressed and as the representatives of the people when it can't seem to muster more votes from the entire country than the number of people living in my Block let alone my Town !

The ironic thing is there have already been a few Indian poster say "hmmmmm interesting" , "Raw is watching" and saying they consider themselves non Pakistanis.

The Darda people were ruthless fighters during the partition and after and can't stand India.

Everything is as good and as bad in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan as it is in the rest of the country; as far as their loyalties are concerned - Had they believed in it being a 'disputed' territory than they wouldn't constituting 9% of the Army despite being only 3% of the population !

You could profit from a visit to AJK and GB instead of giving ear to these self-styled insightful pieces of journalism !

The Dogras were not the Indian Army or representatives of Indian state....hence the claim that them being slaughtered is some sort of indication of their choice for Pakistan or not for india is a logical fallacy...

and it seems there are other gilgit and baltistanis that consider the territory disputed...unlike you, but they exist and have been quoted in this article...hope you understand why I find it hard to accept when you speak for all people of the Pakistani occupied state..

Anyways a committee has been made by the govt and soon all the issues would be resolved.

Not really. You are again wrong. I think you didn't read the article by Sher Jang Thapa of Indian army who was present in Skardu in 1948. In his own words each and every civilian in Skardu was working as a spy for Pakistan.

So yes the people of GB opt for Pakistan. And they showed great resolve and determination for it.

All of their demands are right. @Armstrong never said anything like this either. GB is crown of Pakistan and stupid PML(N) govt should treat it like in the same manner. Why the hell ganja dropped the wheat subsidy?
Because u guys have no money and its done under pressure from imf as u have taken loans

So as I read it, are you saying that representation in the army is a proof of their political position on the state??

Then may I present the J&K Light Infantry to you sir?

I would visit GB in a heartbeat...My visit to Kashmir in 1987 was the most memorable travel I have had in a while...Unfortunately, not sure if I a travel to the Pakistani side is realistic given ground realities on my side..

Well I think govt has enough money to provide subsidy to the people of GB if not for whole country. Nawaz might be spending this money on something else of his own luxury.
