Pakistan should have a High Speed Train connecting Peshawar, Islamabad, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan and Bhawalpur. Daily service with Frequencies depending on daily demand.

Any Suggestions Guys..... :pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

As great as it sounds, unfortunately it might no be feasible. There's economic obstructions, but also what to do with the existing railway system? The best place to start would be with what's already in place and improve it.

We have been thought about this before, Pakistan can't be Europe or Japan because they prefer to live in third world permanently and doesn't want to develop further.

Do you really think million illiterate people will sit on the roof like this overload on new high speed trains ?

The Infrastructure British left, even that is not expanded.. rather reduced.. such demands are far fetched! All the trains running on electricity have been shut down, many routs are cancelled and freight trains are reduced to minimum.. so keep calm and enjoy Lahore metro bus system, the technology of 20th century ..

Funny how Pakistan's greatest downfall is the massive country-wide jahiliyat.
Education is the only way forward; you can chose to focus on anything but if the human capital is close to zilch, then I'm afraid the civilization cannot move forward.

Yeah, but it should be Financed by selling Bonds and let the income from tickets payback the Bonds.

Janaaab who is going to pay the high interest on it never mind the principal amount at the end with most certainly a premium ?

Pehleiii hum seh loan nahin uttar rahiii.....if we take another large one tou phir tou Khuda hiii hafiz haiii ! :(

I wonder if you are aware of the kind of infrastructure that is needed to run High speed trains ?

The existing track , signalling & bridge system would need revamping , maybe creating separate lines for HS Trains - you cannot have a passenger train whose chain has been pulled on the track with a HS tearing down behind it.

I would try to get electricity 24*7 first.

Wait, so you would sell high interest bonds to finance the project and then run these trains only once or twice a day.

You disappoint me @Armstrong

I am going to have you retrained as an Accountant / Finance Guy.:p:

Do a Feasibility Report on this Project and plan the Funding from Bond issue.

Amortize the Bond over 20 to 30 year period with Interest and Principal both paid on Installment basis instead of a Balloon payment, from the income generated by the Project.

I foresee this service primarily for Business people who have to make day trips to these different Cities in Punjab i.e. leave in the morning and return at night ( Day Trip ).

Initially start the service from Islamabad - Sargodha - Faisalabad - Lahore Service using a 250 KM/hour high speed trains.

Later on add the Peshawar / Islamabad and Lahore / Multan and Multan/ Karachi lines.

Get off this Thread you ODIOUS INDIAN TROLLER.

This does not concern you. This is a debate between Pakistanis only.

Pakistan does not have good future plan, maybe Russia should annex our country and pay tax properly to achieve big dreams. :(
