Iron Man army

Hahaha,i guess you're a euroliberal.Guess what buddy ...everybody else in the world is in a arms race allready while we,in Europe cut back on defence every year to spend on welfare and such crap. This will be our doom.

Does Europe actually have a serious military threat from other countries??

Not at the moment but reducing our militaries to overgrown police forces will turn us into a target sooner or later.Everybody is cutting back in Europe/anyone else is hiking military expenses all over the world. This will not end well in the long run.

you must've missed the part where i said 'yet another armsrace' ey.

and i honestly think it'll much more likely be mass starvation or hugantic climate problems or ww3 (you build lotsa weapons, somebody's gonna wanna use 'm, especially with the average quality of political leadership on our dear planet!) that causes mass-suffering, rather than as you say cutting defense spending would (which is already at levels that would see both poverty and climate change solved).

your turn again, einstein.

Lol what ? So the rest of the planet is arming while we cut back...ofcourse they're going to use the weapons, why do you think they're arming ? You've just confirmed me.And when they'll turn to Europe we're going to stop them with our liliputan armies and our welfare programs.:disagree:

Dude, we got nukes to prevent that, in case you didn't know :)

I'm still of the opinion we'd best spend our tax(!)money on tackling the other problems I indicated (for the next 50-100 years or so at least), rather than developing yet more NEW TYPES of weapons (i mean, we got the laser weapon dev, the UAV and other robotic warriors dev, and all the classified weapons dev programs) that spread armsraces into more and more money-guzzling enterprises.

Wrong.France and Britain have nukes, the rest of us have ever decreasing armies and ever increasing welfare programs.Investing more money in the weapon industry and rearming european armies will creeate numerous new jobs and will give boost to our economies.Where should money come for this, you ask ? The EU spends 53 billion E (over 70 billion $)!!!! annualy in donations to third world countries.Imagine cutting these funds right now and investing them in our weapons industries on a 10 year span and we allready have 700 billion $+ more hundreds of billions if we cut welfare for immigrants, shut all the aid/integration programs for immigrants and even expel them ASAP.It will automatically create hundreds of thousands of jobs all over Europe. With these money we can arm and standardize weapons in all EU countries with indigenous european weapons so the local industries and jobs keep thriving + create a credible deterent to all future wannabe agressors.

@Gabriel92 , @Götterdämmerung @Audio an opinion on this ?

How much would this cost? And c'mon man why are people becoming more cowardly as technology soars....

whats the reason to waste a human life when You Can Save him
and it will be a long term investment You train a soldeir for years put millions on him and and if he dies on the 1st of the start of war you will need someone else and you have put more money on him to train so instead save the time and money

Ya must be a Eurotard then. Spending money on Infrastructure & Welfare is a much greater investment than spending it on arms. A bridge can bring annual income, spending it on welfare will improve the citizens livelihoods, but weapons will stay still & collect dust, unless there's a war going on & if its destroyed what you gonna do about it?

You must be the village idiot,yo' Dumbo ,unlike many other countries in the world who have the infrastructure of the stone age and still spend like crazy on weapons Europe allready has a good infrastructure.Unchecked welfare encourages lazyness , it's basic socialism and welfare for immigrants it's nothing else then plain waste of tax payer money.

Ya ever heard of Maintenance or Expanding cause that's still count as infrastructure & contrary to your belief Infrastructure very important to Logistic a very important component in defense. What happen if you move your brand new tank the bridge just give away? That's just bullshit, there's no recorded case where Welfare makes people lazy. If people are lazy its because of bad parenting or its the individual fault. All Welfare did is to alleviate its citizens from worry. Making them more productive. If you starts to dip in to social program then the tax payers will suffer at the end.

The Military should be at the donkey's end when the government started drawing up budgets not at the forefront or at the top 3. Cause its considered wasteful spending when the real power of this world is no longer at the barrel of the gun, but on how much zeroes you have on your checkbook.

Never like the idea Future Infantry . Wasteful spending when Drones are going to replace them anyway. If they do manages to stay their job will be limited to specialize roles.

Look dude ,i didn't say put all the money into the militaries but when neighbouring Russia is spending 4.5 % of GDP on defence we could also go with 2.5 %.As i've shown you allready 70 billion $ a year can come only from money given by the EU as aid to third world countries alone, these are money wasted.A stronger defence industry and bigger militaries will assure more jobs and higher industrial output.

What we need is not more EU countries with nukes, what we need is an intergrated EU army without the US meddling into it. There are a lot of overlapping and redundancy in our armies and that is waste of money. What we also need is more money for education and integration of migrants who have been here long ago but also prevention of new "undisired migrants" moving in. The best way to do that is to understand the cause of this migration and tackle it there right at the source. For that we also need money and not more lethal weapons. The best weapons to deal with our future problems and to create jobs is education.

The USA is an example that we should at all cost not emulate. They have the biggest arm industry in the world and yet their overall job creation is ridiculous. In addition to that, their MIC is in fact dictating their gov. policy, particularly foreign politcy. Lobbyism in the EU is already bad enough, I don't want it to get worse.

If you think having Russia for a Neighbor is bad my country's surrounded by 3 great power. Yet our Budget remain the lowest in the region. It increases annually of course, but that's only because our economy is becoming stronger. A strong army must have an even stronger economy to support it. Its achieved by not investing on the military.

If you stop aid you just gonna make more people migrate into I don't know... Europe.

Why investing on the Arms industry? why not go for appliances like Toaster. It does the same things. Only difference is the market.

Yeah, it's called aid to ungrateful countries. If you want to solve all 3rd world countries problems at the source, well, we have no money for that. It would quickly become an endless pit.

More than half of all money spent on helping poor countries comes from the EU and its member countries, making it the world's biggest aid donor.

http://europa.eu/pol/dev/

+ schemes like prefered manufacturer of goods as is the case with Bangladesh, so that Bangladeshi's here can be predicting joyfully our demise and how we will die out etc etc

If it's gonna be like that, us carrying ungrateful bastards around, best to go back to colonial days and European managers of whole countries (preferably German, Swiss or Scandinavian) get appointed.
At least this way you know work is getting done.

Maybe, but definitely own ABM programmes, expanded cyber defense/offense etc etc...
