A whopping Pak. Rs. 20,000 Crores for new buses etc. This changes the look & feel of desi cities.

The total project cost was INR Rs 6,300 & estimated additional central funds is INR Rs 4,450 crore.
10, 000 more new buses re: Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) - II.

@fateh71: well said man...keep enjoying the thread..and keep posting guys.my favourite thread on the forum..

^^

Without bias, this thread is important for all S. Asia including Af-Pak.

Development is an entire subject. India is leading by example and other's can do the same cheaper, better, faster.
Or one can outsource everything to China and they do a fab. job; however, doing it oneself has it's merits no doubt.

India's Economy - The Road Ahead

Here in Canada, the US sneezes and Canada get's a cold. Pakistan is called the Quebec, originally a religious minorities province (state) of Canada which wanted to separate from Canada, really suffers when the US economy goes south. Religious differences betwenn India Vs. Pakistan and Canada Vs. Quebec is Islam & Catholicism.

So if India's on a roll, it will carry everyone along. Fact is that much of S.Asian business families are solidly invested in India.

That DMIC vid is a nice find. No doubt the signifcance of this project is completely overlooked by 99.99% of Indians. When it is complete India will be a very different country.

Indians should be pretty grateful to the Japanese as well, if not for their funds and expertise a lot if these mammoth infra projects coming up in India would fail to get off the ground.

I thought that by now, most people would've realised what a massive troll 'by78' actually is (despite his claims), and would stop responding to his hoysin sauce-laced posts.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have done that.

I don't think bringing a Businessweek article to forumers' attention constitutes trolling, unless you accuse Bruce Einhorn of trolling.

If by trolling you are referring to my posts on China's development experience, then please keep in mind that 'India vs. China' is a very popular topic in India, which makes China-related post especially pertinent and relevant. India invites comparison with China, and therefore these comparisons will be made, regardless if they are to your liking.

End of.

'Trolling' to me is when someone accuses another of 'trolling' when he simply dislikes what he hears from that person.

Cheers!
