Top Afghanistan female police officer killed

If what you say is true, then absolutely. But, it works both ways.

Yes. Afghan govt should reconsider its policies. It is not doing any good to Afghanistan itself. This would encourage others to reiterate in the same manner.

I am pretty sure plenty more Talibanis have been killed. I don't know if the stats for that are available.

Doesn't matter for Taliban. Due to pathetic situation in Afghanistan they have too many recruits to replace.

I am just posting killings of Talibans in past '5 days'.

And what good has all these deaths did to ground situation of Afghanistan. Nothing. 11 years have been wasted with the same kind of news and nothing improved.

Whatever. According to Indians on this board taliban are just taliban. Afghan or Pakistani. Both are evil.

Afghan govt should reconsider its policies.

Charity begins at home..

topic.....

RIP..she should be a role model for afghan women.

Pakistan Taliban formed much later. Afghan Taliban and their supporters have existed for much longer. The ones who started must initiate the process of reconciliation by dropping their support as well.

True. That's why Afghan govt is supposed to take action.

Afghan taliban are afghans and are mostly based in Afghanistan. Even if some are in Pakistan, they are under attack by drones. It is a local movement, that's why survived this long.

Alot have been improved and it will take some time. Anyway don't mind. You'll say half empty and I'll say half full.

It is a local movement. But, the leaders are not in Afghanistan. There is a reason why they call themselves the "Quetta" Shura.

And the only reason this movement has lasted so long is because of the safe havens its leaders got in a certain neighbouring country , otherwise they would have been dealt with long back.

Yeah they have opened an office in Doha and are negotiating with USA for power sharing in Kabul.

Things have improved. :)

Quetta shura or Mumbai shura. The fact is most of the Taliban leadership is in Afghanistan fighting there opponents. If it wouldn't be a local movement, it would have perished by now.

May be only a few of them. Most are in Afghanistan. And Afghanistan govt and their foreign supporters failed to beat them.

for god sake there was a time when they had a complete control of Afganistan and they use to run their Govt there but see now they are left just as a terrorist guerillas. They are being slaughtered like sheeps in thousands of them per month. Talibans were never so weak like they are now. All they can do is sucide bombings and some terror attacks in some parts of Afganistan now. Their situation is same as that of TTP in northen areas of Pakistan where Pashtuns are in numbers.

They are attacking Kabul every week and are making inroads in western and northern afghanistan. Eastern and Southern Afghanistan already under their control. I can see a lot of improvement indeed. Ousting them from power was never an issue. eliminating them was. And NATO and Afghan state failed to do that. What an improvement. :)

Attacking Kabul twice in a week where some 5-10 innocents die doesn't mean they have control on Kabul. And on second part I think ANAs goal is not to eliminate them completely(as that can not be done in near future) but rather control them to a great extent and I think they are doing that quite well.

Here is an Afghan perspective :

First RIP she was a brave officer and we mourn her loss, she is one of many that we loss everyday on the both sides.

I have followed some of the posts here and I see a narrative where by folks from Pakistan and India are taking sides, has anyone cared to ask what the Afghans want or think??
With all due respect we would very much appreciate nothing more than you all of the neighbors leaving us alone to sort out the mess in our country. We respect your sympathies and support but I would say it has done more harm than good. Now this may all sound naive but as an Afghan and seeing what the ordinary Afghans have to go through every day I could rightly say that we are just tired of this never ending middling by our neighbors with each side taking the moral high ground.

/Peace
