PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and soon-to-be Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pervez Khattak on Friday said that the coming provincial government was ready to hold talks with the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants.

We have no enmity with the Taliban, said the PTI central Secretary General. He said the Taliban were also Pakistanis and that they request the militant group to hold peace talks and work for peace in the region.

“We appeal to Taliban that we are not at war with you, this province is yours and we are hopeful you will work for its peace.

“We are not against anyone and not here to fight anyone, we want peace and development in our province and we want to talk to them, ” he said.

Pervaiz Khattak also said that they should be given a chance to settle the problem.

“Our request to them is that we want peace in the province and that they should extend to us their help,” Khattak said.

In sab ko fauj seedhi kar day gi...

N-league, PTI both have a gross misunderstanding of the situation and are pretty naive...when they'll get in the government and get a few briefings by top honchos, aqal thikanay lag jaye gi.

Amreeki dollar band ho gaye tou apni fooj bhi dum duba ker bhag khari ho gi.... :sarcastic:

perception is important.. we have to create the perception that we are not in the US led war. even if the Taliban dont give up arm and have to be broken down by use of power, it will definately deprive them of potential man power. destroying the rhetoric is very important.... im all for IK strategy wrt to dealing with Talibans.

What now, not at war with TTP. You are going to hold talks with the group that routinely targets and kills your security forces.
Something doesn't add up here

Oh I understand your pain. Since the bloody civilians are morons only the mighty establishment knows what should be done.

Why can't you see what they are seeing?

The most hypocrite establishment is a major non nato ally of the US and is also the most bombed ally as well.

Stop Drone attacks and many of the core ideological groups would wither away while the rest can be taken out.

Excellent summary. Comment of the thread.

Leadership of PTI is not only naive/inexperienced but also stupid without any knowledge of ground realities

we have no enmity with those who butchered our soldiers and attack on our army and naval head quarters and commit terrerism on innocent civilalins

and province is their to impose their violent ideology on everyone else by forced and challenge the authority of state

This praviaz khttak is funny and he should be given the statistics of those Pakistani soldies who have been killed in the hands of his dear TTP

No doubt PTI is naive.

But we also need to keep in mind that military operation is always available. PTI by itself cannot take this option off the table.

In fact the burden is on PTI to prove that negotiations will work.

Drones are attacking mainly in 1 tribal agency.

What about the rest of the 6?

How come drone excuse and justification is being used for all FATA.

In any case PTI should be allowed to form the government in KP, and let them show the rest of us that they can deliver.

peace

We should give peace a chance otherwise we have been fighting for about 10 years now.

If these guys understand the language of negotiation or talks then army would never bothered to use military operation as last resort..

Military option is not only available, but even has already been exercised and is continuing still.

Also, how can those not be PTI's enemies against whom your army is already fighting and losing its good men? Pretty disgusting statement from the PTI leader.

Of course, the burden is always on the one who goes for an effort, not on anyone else. However, this new leader appears to have forgotten the track record of the TTP, which has said one thing and done the other even after the government completely bowed down to its demands - not once, but twice.

Anyway, what do you mean by the statements marked in bold?

Let's see if this new approach works.
the disease is so bad and in such an advanced stage that any new medication should be welcomed as all
older remedies have failed.
