Don't you thnk his two nation theory was debunked when East Pakistan stood up against their own Muslim brothers, Indian Muslims grew in India and are in crores in number. Ethnic violence has killed more Muslims in Pakistan than riots in India.

He gave you an idea but the leaders after Jinnah, twisted it, forgot it, the basis of the Two Nation Theory. Instead of getting stromger at both West and East to squeeze India was not foreseen for short term personal gains. Imagine India surrounded by nuclear Pakistan by two sides.

Aaab mein tujhe Two Nation Theory samjhanei bethaa tou meri baaal white ho jain gai ! But heres a little snippet for you : It was neither 'We don't want to live with the evil Hindus' nor was it 'We're Muslims..so that washes away all that went before or would happen aferwards' ! And by the way Two Nation Theory wasn't started by Iqbal it went through an evolutionary stage since it was first picked up by Sir Syed at the end of the 1857 war and was about 'More Political Rights' because we're different with a culture, traditions, values, belief and political and economic stances, different then you guys - give us space to express them in an American styled federation in the Union of India where the Central Government would allow those of us in the Muslim majority provinces to do all of that and to try to, to use the name of Iqbal's book, 'reconstruct relgious thought in Islam' to address all of these Islamic particulars in the light of our changing dynamics. When it was felt that such considerations would not be honored or allowed...thats when we asked for a separate country !

By the way the TNT is not just confined to the Indian subcontinent, its what created Israel, its what led to the massacres in Bosnia and its exactly what the Bengalis prescribed to after having achieved their independence they started allowing Islam back into the political stream before finally declaring it the State religion.
