On Afghanistan, the Pentagon Has Lost the American People

Something being common does not make it right or just. In this case it smacks of hypocrisy

The thread is about American people. We can focus on Pakistan on other threads

There is no point in identifying hypocrisies hoping that the system will correct itself to fairness and justice.

The European and Anglo saxon world created this "world system" to favour their own nations.

If you want a solution, look at china, they got their head down and turned their nation around - they worked harder than they bitched!!

Exactly. But b1tch1ng is much easier than working hard.

Hence, it is easier to point out the errors of American ways such as in this thread and ignoring its many successes, rather than working hard to rectify the problems that directly plague Pakistan and continue to fester.

Why are you trying to derail the thread? Whats the matter with you mate.

back to topic I wonder if the American regime ever carried public opinion? It seems AIPAC opinions and hence Israeli public opinion is more important

As usual you gone too far with your sycophancy.

I do not mean to say that you should not protect yourself from outside powers ruining development and prosperity, this can never really be something wrong to complain about per se, for example just look at how much the Americans bitched about soviet meddling in the cold war whilst their own CIA were fomenting discord in Iran!

However there is a point where complaining becomes all consuming and counter productive - a potent and unhealthy mix, atleast make sure you are doing what you can, there is never an excuse to do that is there?

The Pentagon is charged with protection of USA and its people; seems to me they are doing a spot on job. The American people surely appreciate that first and foremost.

I think Pakistan passed that point decades ago!

a spot on job? lol, they invaded nations that posed no threat to them on a falsified basis, the statement a "spot on job" is based in a false dichotomy, and because of that everything they have done is a disaster, they have made the world a bloodier, more unstable place, for the american people included, no sane person can deny that.

hence you have the weaponisation of human rights, the argument therefore becomes "we did it for other people not ourselves" - seems you are behind the curve on american propaganda.

every nation has no lesser right than the us to protect its people, but only the us nation seeks to pre emptively do whatever it pleases outside the norms of international law and in whatever manner it pleases.

a timetable for withdrawal, but understood by the Pentagon and the Republican leadership as allowing tens of thousands of U.S. troops to remain in Afghanistan forever. Now we know how to kill the Pentagon's fantasy of keeping tens of thousands of U.S. troops in Afghanistan forever: nail the Administration's pseudo-timetable for withdrawal to the wall.
This was the game plan right from the beginning. There would be at least two divisions (approx 20,000 combatants and support troops) stationed there permanently.

The US of A cannot afford to leave Afghanistan which is sitting in excess of $1 trillion of untapped minerals, according to new calculations from surveys conducted jointly by the Pentagon and the US Geological Survey.

The sheer size of the deposits – including copper, gold, iron and cobalt as well as vast amounts of lithium, a key component in batteries of Western lifestyle staples such as laptops and BlackBerrys – holds out the possibility that Afghanistan, ravaged by decades of conflict, might become one of the most important and lucrative centers of mining in the world.

The existence of the minerals do raise questions about the real purpose of American involvement in the Afghan conflict. The US and British-led invasion of Iraq was in order to control its oil wealth. The West's invasion of Afghanistan led by America is for its "hidden" natural treasures.

The bottom line is that America is not going to withdraw in a hurry from Afghanistan. The stakes are too high. They have come to stay in order to exploit Afghanistan's natural resources. And Osama was the fall guy - an excuse to invade Afghanistan just like Saddam Hussein was in Iraq!

No, the Premptive Doctrine as enunciated first by George Bush states that the United States has the right to secure itself against countries that harbor or give aid to terrorist groups, which is important to keep in mind after USA was attacked first.

err it has the right to do so on a pre emptive basis, with whatever force it deems appropriate and at whatever cost it deems appropriate.

in terms of afghanistan it was attacked by saudi's but they attacked the ENTIRE nation of afghanistan using full military force and occupying the lands for over a decade to only weed out ONE GUY and SOME of his cronies

the only interpretation the us had was massive war and escalation, this makes no sense unless you are deranged, or created a false pretense to justify another goal.

Don't forget that "one guy" was finally killed in Pakistan, and he was directly responsible for the deaths of thousands on 9/11. And the "cronies" were part of a whole organisation that needed to be destroyed by cutting off the head first.

First if they were that happy Obama would not be worried about reelection

Can you not find itself even when the thread is not about Pakistan to have a dig at Pakistan

His aim was to bankrupt America and it would appear that America has played into that. Even in death he haunts America.

Actually, in death, he is only counting fish in the Arabian Sea, and just when did America go bankrupt? I must have missed that whole crash it seems.

Here is history of US GDP growth:

AnnualGDPGrowthUS.jpg

US economic activity is filled with ups and downs. Average growth rate is within 3% - 4% range.

Just look at the DISASTER of 1930s. US survived THAT.

History of US economic recessions:

If this was 1930s, member Aryan_B would have declared US as a DEAD state with no chance of recovery.

Any country that the seeks to protect itself is regarded as double dealing.

I think most of the world believes that the us has been double dealing justice and humanity itself.

We were just 'protecting' ourselves. Good for the goose...:usflag:

I'm diving Sunday, I'll keep an eye out for the putz.:bunny:
