Im talking about selling arms to Taiwan, so far the Americans have sold basic things and upgrades only but what if China does not play ball with Iran it could change and you may see new F16's being sold.

I heard China had swapped with Pakistan, Japan, Thailand, Russia and Phillipines. Guys anything on the Indian front? would make sense???

We just signed one with Japan .. we have one with Russia.. and I think so we have same agreement with couple of countries..but knowing our import bill for crude from Arab countries which accepts payments in USD .. it is difficult to get into agreement with any major market of Indian products.. we need USD to import oil...
If arab countries come up with some other arrangement .. it will be gr8 we can reduce our dependency on USD by gr8 amount..
For China they have big surplus with USA so they get their need for USD .. but for us .. story is different ..
But India - Pakistan should swap currency .. and we need some mechanism at world level .. so many more nations can benefited from it .. for this first we need to change culture of IMF and World Bank where American and European rules.. we shld force some one from Asia to lead those institution

Weapons sold to Taipei will belong to us when reunification happens, however I agree, Iran's Oil is important to Korea and Japan as well includes both China and India we can not afford to give it up.

would strain US-China relations however similar incident with the Syria Russia-China VETO the USA did not change it's mind. it's very unlikely to happen.

But what are we going to do? the sanctions are already there and the wheels in motion.

It is tricky situation for India and company like L & T .. Iran could be big market for them .. but by doing this they can't work for European or American companies and may be they can't get technology and ban on Import.. government should take aggressive steps by dividing operations of entities dealing with Iran and USA same time.
User barter to reduce need of actual money transfer .. use third country banking system and set-up different exim bank to deal with countries like Iran which are under sanction .. all are do-able if government take aggressive posture ... We have to deal with it .. we need aggressive policies to show our national interest by supporting big private companies from back and let them lead way instead of government do directly ..

I will say China should show their open support to other countries who are willing to deal with Iran ..

Indeed Oil from Iran is vital for both our countries , Japan and Korea also are hesitant on the Sanctions on Iran, the US would want Saudi Arabia to make for the loss of Iran Oil.

The main Issue is this for Israel on Iran Nuclear Issue. Iran will not give up Nuclear Program. so they want deprive Iran.
