LAHORE: The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) put banned outfit, Lashkar-e-Jhangvis (LeJ) leader Ghulam Rasool Shah under house arrest in his home town Bahawalnagar on Friday.
Shah is considering a close aide of LeJ leader Malik Ishaq as well as co-accused in some cases of terrorism registered against Ishaq.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station City Bahawalnagar Maqbool Ahmed Tatla, Shah is expected to be shifted to jail under detention orders soon.
Malik Ishaq, who was released in July this year from Kot Lakhpat jail Lahore, was also put under temporary house arrest in Rahim Yar Khan on Thursday.
The house arrests followed after intelligence agencies and LEA reports revealed that both leaders were actively carrying out activities connected to sectarian violence in Punjab, particularly in areas where they resided and visited.
