Both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were centers of military production and shipping, and thus legitimate targets according to the rules of war applicable during WW2.

Fair argument enough. But the Taliban knew exactly what Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda wanted to do to US. So if one should not welcome invaders with roses, is it acceptable to welcome with roses those would use one's own land as a war staging ground?

after 9-11 they was ready to handover usama any Muslim free state but you guys loaded with b-52 b-2 and b-1 rush on Afghanistan .you land there with help of carpet bombardment and still thinking people will behave with your force normally ? no way dear .every country has wanted persons in another its matter of power you guys got weapons tech and money so what USA said its law? America waste 4trillion$ in last 10 years if you guys spend 500bn$ on Afghanistan directly extremism terrorism was old story long before .but you waste this money to killing operations and unfinished war now face it .

You could have exploded the nuke away from civilian area in japan to give the japanese a chance to see what power you had and maybe they would have surrenderd without having to kill innocent civilians

No. The Taliban proposed Osama bin Laden be turned over to a muslim state. The problem for your argument here is that just as no muslim state wanted his body today no muslim state back then wanted bin Laden alive then. Another problem is that Omar was bin Laden's brother-in-law, so no one took that proposal seriously. Further, we have the right to insist that we have bin Laden's custody. It was our soil that was attacked. All the Taliban had to do was turned Osama bin Laden over to US and expel al-Qaeda from Afghanistan, just as we have been asking for about ten years.

So stop evading and answer my question: If it is unacceptable to have invaders on one's soil, then why is it acceptable to host someone who plans on using the same land to wage a war to someone else?

It is a simple question, no?
