India's Cold Start Is Too Hot

Adding to that, the surprise factor will also play its role because unlike India, weapon procurement is not too transparent in Pakistan. Something we observed last year during Azm-e-Naw exercise when world saw active A-100 MLRS when all we knew was a deal discussion on the said weapon system. Indigenous projects follow the same pattern and public is only shown what military wants them to see. Babar, Raad and now Nasr came out of no where..

For us the HELINA & LCH came out of nowhere.

All the international pressure you are talking about is there in Afghanistan expecting Pakistan to do something which they want. I will be surprised if you didn't learn what is our reaction to their asking. Did international pressure on Pakistan worked on Nuclear Explosions???

Thats actually immature thinking that India would be allowed to do but Pakistan's hand would be held and Pakistan won't move.

Thats what cold start is all about.

Do the damage before the international pressure starts coming in.

An observation about Indians: When Nasr Missile was tested, everybody from Indian said.. there is no "cold-start" and now they are back defending it and basing their arguments on "international pressures" and "Indian plans" etc. How quickly they changed their attire is surprising.

Navy is indeed the weakest of the three arms and something Pakistan needs to think about. The all and all dominant role of the army should be brought down and resources should be allocated for the navy. The lack of funds cost us the U boat deal.

According to my info, there is no room of tolerating a limited strike on our territory as per Pak Military's doctrine. Don't you wonder just why your AF or even army didn't even fire a single bullet after the so called 26-11? This is why the sub continent is called "Nuclear Flash point".

Yup.. Nuke'em all.. I remember another member wanted to use Nukes on the Taliban attacking the FC post a few days back :D

When is Pakistan developing the Nuclear bullet for the G3.. ???

lol doesn't this somehow resemble the Chinese tactics of 1962.........I don;t think this would work on todays war especially when war preparedness is high on both side.

Well may be i sound diff here to some but pakistan needs to do just one thing instead of making any hue-cry......

"Just stop state sponsored terrorism and all those Terrorist camp/organisations operating there"

India is not that stupid to attack pakistan without any reason(And history is proof of it). Just one more attack on India from pakistan based Terrorists (Like 26/11) and no one can stop a War.

The point is Pakistan emphasizes too much on Indian army strikes but ignores what if Indian navy, air force takes the lead with our army following after them.

Its because your IBG's represent the biggest threat to Pakistan, they have the biggest bite as compared to your Navy and Air Force.

This would sound much more than a cold start but just imagine Indian Brahmos strikes to take out your warships or even an attack on Muridke without crossing the border.

Launch of Brahmos would be immediately detected and PN will fire back Harpoons II or C-803/802 in return, tit for tat.

Same for an aerial attack on Muridke, any strike package from the Indian side will be intercepted considering how extensive Pakistan's radar coverage is. But for argument sakes IAF does indeed successfully strike their targets in Muridke, expect PAF to launch their stand off weapons within minutes in a retaliatory strike.

And when you plan to retaliate, Indian IBG's take you by surprise.

I dont think you are aware of how Pakistan's Armed Forces, the three departments can operate simultaneously and engage their enemy. It will take some really innovative thinking and luck for the Indian IBG's to take PA by surprise because Indian major formations are monitored heavily.

Pakistan aren't making any hue and cry. Who started cold war strategy in 2005? who said We can Fight Pakistan and China simultaneously?

Did Pakistani Generals ever threatened India Lately? Did our Think tanks, and Government officials gave any war mongering statements? Did our side hyped up the whole War scenario?

Look before you Leap!

i agree with markus if the in and iaf do the first strike then the pakistan would be caught by surprise because they would be concentrating more on the ia while not so much on in and iaf if the in blows up karachi port and blocks the oil supply then the war would be a small time war now if this happens the pak army first priority would be to deter the iaf and in while the ia can act on full force

All assumptions, intel monitors all major indian formations, any movement to the border would most likely be detected. As to retaliation, I am reliably informed that through intermediaries - the indian's were told that any strike package attacking Pakistan would not have an airfield to return to:azn:

This kind of chest thumping is best kept to one's self and results shown when it matters.

Nope. The Pak Army can hold its own against an onslaught from Indian Army. They would need air support to break through Pakistan's defenses, but this is the 21st century. The PAF is not sleeping and the AWACS further enhance our sight. Any IAF attack or support operation can be easily countered.

The only problem I see is the Pak Navy's limits in terms of funds and numbers. But even this issue has been addressed to some extent with the recent acquisition program.

The India's real competitor in the sea is China, which will soon have carrier(s) to its fleet.

Only a matter of time before Pak Navy also gets nuclear subs. Funds maybe a hinderance but when it comes to defending Pakistan no cost is too great and we will manage somehow.
