Wu Bangguo: China will never have multiparty government

Strange, people from a country having the largest "modern slavery" population on the planet lecturing Chinese regarding the so-called democracy?
Democracy= equality and freedom.
Caste-system=discrimination according to caste.
Democracy+Caste-system=??
International Dalit Solidarity Network: Dalits are victims of modern slavery

You don't know zilch about caste system..that you will be able to debate on it...all you have are some internet write offs, which our free media(again a pillar of democracy) does in a bid to self criticism...but most likely free media and self criticism would be words unknown to you.

Who told you that? use translate.google.com and look at QQ.com. half the articles on there are negative news.

Of course western news networks love using negative news (which they even admit is reported in STATE news never mind private news) and bashing China with it.

That's wrong. Try voting for the Secretary of Defense in the US. You can't. It's appointed.

Every position not necessarily have to be voted in a democracy ..hell even CEO of a company is not voted but appointed..but important part is law does not prevent you from holding any position.

You have just contradicted yourself. I have made a simple assertion. Not all positions are voted for. The US is an example. You have not brought up any new ideas but rather is repeating what I've said, and being contradictory.

Again so let me repeat myself once again...what I said in my post was.

..in democracy the constitution itself does not bar you from holding any position, but obviously there are other hindrances..which are chiseled out as a democracy matures with time.

and in my previous post again I have said the same.
Every position need not be voted in..but important part is ..majority are..and the top is.

Cool it boy, no need to get frustrated when you are being challenge while happily preaching your craps, of cos you know more than me regarding "caste-system" since you will be classified by "caste" before you were even born, so don't tell me you don't know your own caste.
Please do not try to get away my question regarding the by product of "modern slavery" in India from your so-called democracy with personal attack, it won't work. "fact" remain "fact".

Let's not go into caste. It's not their fault, it has been a dark part of their traditions, so much that they even named their L|ow C|aste A|ircraft in its memory.

Your basic tactic itself is diversionary for your inability debate on the present issue..if you want to debate on caste system by all mean open another thread..will take you on there.

I have no problem with Chinese system of governance...to each his own.. but to call it democracy will be infinitely wrong..some states endeavor to become democracies, but are only partially successful due to various intrinsic factors but China does not even try.
and Chinese seem happy with their system of governance so why is there is this hep new need to relate yourself to the word "democracy "..as far as I even the Chinese govt doesnot do it.

There is only one question, how do you know that China does not try? You really know China?

Let me end it for once and for all.

@all Indian members
China is not a "democracy", and India is a "democracy". But we Chinese are happy with the present China, and we hope you are happy with the present India.

I hope every Indian member will be satisfied with my answer.

Is Chinese govt trying to transform itself into a people's democracy?

To see how to understand, as I said in the PDF, Western developed countries is that they make democratic ways as a full basket, and then sell it to all countries, they have their own purposes, we only discuss democracy, about the purpose of the West I do not say more here. China believes that democracy is a system constituted by a lot of things, democracy is a good thing, but there is a practical problem. According to our actual situation, our approach is to open the basket than democracy as a whole. Some we need it now, such as more freedom of speech, because the media and public opinion of the Authority to restrict the behavior of some officials, such as dereliction of duty and corruption. CCP that it also allows people to vent grievances, and freedom of speech make society more dynamic, it can also serve as a reference to the Chinese government to rule the country. You know in the modern economy and society, if the lack of real information, you want to do a correct policy, it is not possible. For some Election of the State, it may only mean to step down, but for CCP, it means death, so the Chinese government is actually letting the majority of comments, even criticism of CCP. But I do not deny that there are still some limitations, but all those who are limited to some very sensitive issues, if you challenge CCP, if only some remarks, and that no problem, if there is real action, and that there will be limited, even using the state machinery. of course, for an ordinary Chinese people have a wide range of speech freedoms, in particular network.

So, you see, what is democracy? If you say freedom of expression and media monitoring, it is a good thing for China, even the CCP, why do not you get it? Chinese people are pragmatic, not even doubt it.

If you say multi-party system, yes, multi-party system is certainly better than the one-party system in the checks and balances, but the price is very high, the lack of efficiency and do not stop bickering. We saw the election in Taiwan, we are very disappointed . The Chinese need a fast development, especially the surrounding environment does not allow the development of China has a slow, slow sometimes mean death. So, even if ordinary people did not support the multi-party system, at least for now. I personally think that even need to bring consider a true multi-party system, it may 20 years later, is more appropriate. So, if you mean multi-party system, CCP will definitely not want it, and ordinary Chinese people can not support it, at least for now. so, how do you go promote multi-party system? particularly the Chinese government did something good governance in the country.

However, China has begun a number of primary elections from 1988, a number of experiments started from the countryside. But the effect is not good, bribery is widespread, there are many other problems, but are at least 20 years already.

In addition, most Chinese people think that I need to bring something out of the basket of democracy is more independent judicial \ a wider range of media monitoring (not the rumors are true oversight) \ more transparent to the government.

So, you see, democracy? That depends on your approach and perspective. China will not follow the West's intention to accept the basket, but to open his to get the things we need, some good things and do things. Consider to the East Asian model, so if one day, China becomes a democratic country, do not surprised ,if the Chinese that their model is better, will continue, do not surprised. We are pragmatic, as long as the good, we will use. I mean, really good for China, not some western own calculations.

good explaination. multiparty democracy is not a problem as long as there is 1 united force behind them though. US seems slow, but in terms of vital policies, it always implements them with no debate and very fast. Wall Street-CIA regime controls US, and if the president wants to become independent, Kennedy.

Multiparty is actually BS
Hope China doesnt fall to it .
I always hate the non-ruling party as they object each and every law passed by the ruling party

not true. remember attack on parliament of India. congress declared that they will support NDA in their decisions. non ruling party keeps check on behavior of ruling party.

Multiparty system makes sure when the ruling party does something wrong, there is somebody else to point it out.
In a single party you cannot get that level of criticism. If the society is hierarchical, then junior members of party may be afraid to speak out, and provide even constructive criticism.

Democracy has always been messy, even in old roman age. But it is a system that works, somehow, in all sorts of countries.
But if there is something special about chinese(or north koreans) as the guy above pointed out, then may be that is why their system works.

very true. just remember cccp. no one in USSR was able to oppose their wrong decisions because party had all powers. or take example of Qaddafi.
