"Name INDIA given by British" - Pajeets Are Now Boycotting the Name India Claiming it is a Colonial Imposition

The real Indus Valley Civilization is in what is now Pakistan, where many of the ancient Indian civilisations have been excavated.

Indus Valley civilization is not a true civilization like Egypt, China, Iraq. It is neither documented nor well understood. Neither does it have any continuity with the people who followed

It is a true civilization. Just because it's language is not properly known, doesn't mean it's not a language. IVC is thought to have started in the early.

British didn't name it India. Even in the hadith, the Prophet SAW referred to India as Al-Hind.

1. Just because something hasn't been discovered yet doesn't mean it won't be understood one day. The university of Sindh has a entire institute dedicated to the Indus language. And 150 years ago ancient Egypt was just as much a mystery also. More excavations by the British led to more discovery. In Pakistan excavations have been slow.

2. The closest relatives to the Harappan people are literally the modern day ethnic groups of Pakistan.

Harappans = Iranian hunter gatherers + AASI

*this doesn't mean the present day Persian population or the Tamils. None of these groups exist anymore.

Aryan migration led to Aryans + Harappans merging giving rise to Indo Aryans.

Some Indo Aryans interacted with eastern iranic tribes giving rise Indo Iranians.

Hence the modern day population of Pakistan

British didn't name it India.

British named their colony India which they wrongfully gave the entire subcontinent.

Historic India = Indus Valley

Even in the hadith, the Prophet SAW referred to India as Al-Hind.

Hind, Hindhu, Hindhustan all derive from the Sanskrit term Sindhu.

Sindhu = Indus Valley

Avestan Persian and Sanskrit derive from a common Indo European language.

In ancient Persian, S sounding words were pronounced with an H.

Sindhu therefore become Hindhu, from which Hindustan and Hind derive.

During the Greek Persian wars, knowledge was transferred to Greeks about a land called Hindhu.

They took the root hINDhu giving rise to IND, INDOS and eventually onto Latin IND+ia.

All these terms = Indus Valley

1. language -- if you do not understand the language you do not understand any of the writings, coins, carvings etc. you are at a huge disadvantage.
Just look up what Rosetta stone did for our understanding of Egyptian civilization.

2. duration - the other civilizations were longer lasting. Chinese civilization lasts today. The Pharoahs lasted four milleniums

3. continuity - It is not like anyone who followed the IVC said that he or she is a proud follower of Indus Valley civilization. Some of the other ones like Mesopotamian and Sumerian suffer a similar fate

Show me any map made by those people who named Sind or Hind

Everything you say might be true 2500+ years ago. Somewhere along the line things changed. By 1500 it was not true anymore

Why not?

Ancient Egyptians became modern day Egyptians.

Ancient Chinese became modern day Chinese.

Ancient Mesopotamians became modern day Iraqis.

But IVC people didn't become modern day Pakistani and just disappeared into thin air?

^^This, gentlemen, is Revisionism 101.

You realize the British explorers found the IVC ruins first in the 19th century. Before that people living there had no clue about the existence of the IVC

Talk about revisionism here

So Iraqis knew their Goddess Ishtar and Egyptians knew Pharaoh Tutankhamun before British/Europeans figured all these out? Don't run way, awaiting your well informed reply since you seem to know everything about everything like any Pajeet out there.

If, like Iraqis and Egyptians, Pakistanis know nothing of their ancestors' culture from 5000-7000 years ago, why does not knowing make them not their descendants?

Modern Egyptians until the 19th century did not care about Pharaohs. In Islam idol worship was prohibited. Ancient Egyptians were pagans. They did not care. But they knew the pyramids and Sphinx existed. When Europeans deciphered the ancient mysteries they did appreciate the monumental achievements of the ancient Egyptian civilization. The Pharaohs ruled for 4000 years - most of the time they were dominant power in the Middle East. They have the pyramids, sphinx, Rosetta Stones, mummies. They find this is a source of tourism money and they are happy to take it. There is no such dynamic in Pakistan.

You might be their descendants. Given the amount of invasions that went through modern day Pakistan it is highly unlikely.
You do not know their languages. You have nothing in common with their culture. Until the British explored you do not know of their existence. On top of it Indus Valley civilization does not have anything spectacular like Pyramids, Great Walls of China etc. You are free to call yourselves what you want. It is a hard sell.

But they knew the pyramids and Sphinx existed.

Yeah captain obvious, everyone can see Pyramids from miles away. Did they know what's inside? Who discovered what's inside, Egyptians or Europeans?

You might be their descendants. Given the amount of invasions that went through modern day Pakistan it is highly unlikely.

Who wasn't invaded? Egyptians were invaded by Hyksos and Greeks, Mesopotamians by pretty much everyone in the known universe, but Iraqis are still their descendants yeah? Only Pakistanis are the exception...

@nahtanbob might have a point. After the fall of the IVC in near the second millenia BCE, another population might have replaced it before the Indo-Aryan invasion of the 17th century BCE.
