In general post colonial Pakistan was left in a manner where islam could not be correctly praticed

e.g Arabic was taught in madrassas , the english removed it, very clever as it prevented the vast majority of muslim in subcontinent not actually understanding islam. A fact i notice with many Pakistanis... it is shocking they know so much Quranic text but poor understanding and application
