Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman famous speech against the neutrals: Joy Bangla! Joy Pakistan!

ARMY , claiming it take FULL CUT OF 8 Billion for it's Budget , and then telling people we will drink less tea on Friday ???

Excuse me ? What

You are not at war , you can run your affairs with 1 Billion Dollar Soldier Salaries !!!

Pull out 7 Billion from Army budget and pay off any loan payment for IMF and end that program

Enough of this Establishment this or that !? ARMY needs to spend according to capacity of Nation

365 Days live with only 1 Billion Dollar you have only 1.5 Million soldiers who get salary

This whole Drama of IMF is because , every one loves their PERKS and life style

All Province should get a Cut of 1 Billion and Army should face a cut of 7 Billion

It will fix this whole NEUTRAL MIND set

Bail Out loan is not solution , cut the Military Budget and problem solve

Rupee stabilizes

This famous speech of Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman is an eye opener. It exposes the lies of neutrals aka property dealers who still claim that the guy who won 1970's elections under military regime fair and square was actually a traitor!

Honestly, I am kicking myself for not researching more on Mujib, and for just taking the words of my elders about how bad he was. The more I research, the more I am convinced that Mujib was absolutely CORRECT ! In fact, he tried till the very LAST FOR THE COUNTRY TO REMAIN UNIFIED !

I CAN NOW SAFELY CONCLUDE WITHOUT ANY RESERVATIONS THAT THE PEOPLE WHO WERE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR SEPARATION OF EAST PAKISTAN WERE IN FACT PAKISTAN ARMY GENERALS !!

And let me make another unfortunately prediction -- if things do not improve quickly, Pakistani Generals will be responsible for the separation of at least another Pakistan province !

But while Pakistanis grapple with this new threat to their politics, it is for us in Bangladesh to go into a bit of the thinking that still exercises the military mind in Islamabad insofar as Bengali history is concerned. General Bajwa, in what he thought was an off-the-record conversation with some Pakistani journalists a couple of years ago, argued that the amendment in question had to go because, as he put it, it was ‘more dangerous than Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Six Points.’ He clearly has persisted in his assessment in these past two years, as recent developments in Pakistan show.

And that explains it, this old mindset of the Pakistan army. What is missing in Bajwa’s statement is the sense of history, it seems deliberate. He does not seem to recall that Pakistan was not sundered by the Six Points but because its ruling military-civilian bureaucracy would not allow the implementation of the Six Points after the general elections of December 1970. The generation which witnessed the careful, almost calculated steps the Yahya Khan military junta, in cahoots with Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, took to push Pakistan into disintegration in 1971 is yet around. Bajwa remembers it all, of course. And what men like him should also not forget is the shock with which the establishment in Rawalpindi received news of the Awami League’s electoral victory. The clear assumption had been, once campaigning began in January 1970, that a coalition of right-wing parties --- the factions of the Muslim League, the Jamaat-e-Islami and others --- would together win enough seats in the national assembly to prevent Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from claiming outright electoral victory.

That did not happen, of course. And what ought to be remembered too by the current generation of soldiers in Pakistan is that the elections, conducted under a Legal Framework Order, were gone through by the Awami League on the principle of its Six Points being a referendum for the people of Bangladesh. The Six Points won out in the end, but fears that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, once he formed the government in Islamabad, would put them into implementation mode were to be the catalyst in the making of the intrigue that was to destroy Pakistan. The Six Points would have made for a better, freer, democratic and secular Pakistan. They would have accorded a remarkable degree of autonomy to the four provinces in the western segment of the country, while in East Pakistan proper constitutional measures would have guaranteed its equal participation in the state. A significant contribution the Six Points would have made within the Pakistan state structure would be a drastic reduction in the influence of the military, to a point where it would be sent back to the barracks, to serve under elected civilian governments.

But, of course, the Pakistan army knew it all. That Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would not indulge the military, that he would preside over a government not dominated by the soldiers or the bureaucracy, was a thought the army was not willing to contemplate. Bajwa and the likes of him know only too well that the Six Points were not a dangerous proposition and that they certainly did not ruin Pakistan. It was the military’s horror of the so long deprived Bengali majority ascending to power at the centre that engineered its calculated moves to frustrate the election results.

However, that wasn't even the main reason why the military would not allow Mujib to become the Head of State, the main issue was his 6 point plan which would have relegated the federal government to defense and foreign affairs only, a dangerous level of decentralization which would have opened the path for Pakistan's disintegration, the plan also called for separate currencies, foreign exchanges and militaries.

Pakistan and Bangladesh should not have never been under one state and separation was inevitable given the differences.

What do you think is happening NOW??

Stop calling "Establishment" please use term "Army" confront the elephant in room head on

Army is not some honky tonk Jini in lamp , it can't be touched, poor families from Pakistan send their Youth to Join Military so they are part of Pakistan I don't like to use the TERM "ESTABLISHMENT"

It's Pakistan ARMY , say it like it is , it is not some Secret Society , untouchable

1971 Fiasco was Bhutto's stubbornness after loosing 16% vs 39% he should have conceded
> Ask anyone who is not Pakistan what should be ideal case and they would say well 39% guy won

Army made it a matter of personal pride them vs Mujib and result is simple Pakistan split in 1971

Where is Bhutto and his "Ahsaas-e-Takabur?" He is 6 feet under the ground
Where are the Military Nuetrals of the time ? They are all 6 feet under the ground

Ask a 5 year old Pakistani Bacha , beta , if you get 39% Good reviews and your brother gets 16% who did better in reviews he will say

"Certainly 39% > 16%"

But there was "AHSAS-E-TAKABUR!!! " How can we accept loss to Mujib?
99% of Pakistan see Bangali as our Brothers / Second cousin but Bhutto had this "AHSAS-E-TAKABUR!"

I blame the poverty and Natural Disasters for deep mistrust in East Pakistan

But the Elections of 1971 were final nail in coffin Bhutto was responsible for all of it

Today we have this same "AHSAS-E-TAKABUR" which is protecting Nawaz Sharif Enterprise and who is getting killed Citizens of Pakistan

The poor are crying on camera on YouTube the people at ground level

I am simple Pakistani Citizen , I see , Nawaz Sharif Enterprise is Untouchable
They can destroy NAB
They can get out of Jail
They can move money out of Pakistan at will
They can kill their Maqsood Chaprasi
They can control Supreme court
They can control High court

If anyone questions the Enterprise , Rules of Game are changed at will

I only see this "AHSAS-E-TAKABUR" running veins of Nation , like a Cancer

You have hit the nail on the head ! THIS IS PRETTY MUCH IT - ONLY IF PEOPLE REALIZE THAT SINCE 1947, ARMY HAS ALWAYS INTERFERED IN EVERYTHING !! For God sake, people don't even realize that most of this country's existence, it has been the ARMY GENERALS RULING THIS COUNTRY LIKE THEIR PLAYGROUND !! Controlling and destabilizing each and every elected government, creating racial, ethical, religious parties to keep People of Pakistan hostages.

1971 happened due to the miscalculations of THESE ARMY GENERALS, JUST LIKE THE MISCALCULATIONS THEY MADE WHEN REMOVING IMRAN KHAN !!

Army was made a scapegoat while Bhutto came out clean. Thanks to Bhutto, East Pakistan was lost.

Come on my friend, do you seriously think that people would be so dumb to believe that these Army Generals are these innocent, puppy eye Angels laying in front of people to serve them???

They are so good that they don't call ordinary people DUMB BLOODY CIVILIANS !!!

Keep in mind that PPP, PML-N all have had to vacate the chair and go into opposition in the past and IK and PTI were just fine with them not being able to finish their term
I'm sorry but both PPP and PMLN completed their term 2008-2018 and PTI was in opposition at that time.

If you're talking about 90s then there was no PTI back

So tell me now why PTI wasn't allowed to complete term?
What crime it committed?
Have you seen economic survey of Pakistan

Mujib was an actual traitor; he began talks with India for an independent Bangladesh during the 1960's, the conspiracy was detected by the intelligence, but they were ridiculed when the conspiracy was brought to light.
Why would someone want to be leader on bengal only when he can become leader of whole Pakistan?

That's exactly what he was calling himself in his speech leader of Pakistan

He wanted more power rather just a provincial leader

yeah cut the defence budget by atleast 50%!

yeah cut the defence budget by atleast 50%!
No
The defence budget is Ok
But they should do their job
Defending Pakistan from foreign threat
But instead of that they decided to aid that threat.

Now whole nation is paying the price while they're enjoying

I think most PA Chiefs act like Viceroy of US/NATO in Pakistan. A few were a little independent minded but they knew their limits.
