If only he had held on and pushed for victory against India in the kargil war and then denying support to America in 2001. He could've had millions if not billions of soldiers to defend Islam and Pakistan against the crusade.

All he had to do was say that America has threatened war against Pakistan if Pakistan doesn't cooperate with them on Afghanistan. He should've said I have held my ground and put my trust in Allah, armed forces, and Muslims to repel the crusade and gain victory which Allah has promised to its believers.

But he became a jackal and that is how history is going to show him as. A corrupt, death fearing jackal who laid down with his pants down in front of America.

USA threatened to bomb Pakistan back to the Stone age.

Dude, I would not make a judgement back in 2001. That was when USA had the upper hand in almost everything.

Now it is 2021. The world has changed. back then China was no where in sight. Russia was still recovering from the breakup of USSR.

Saudi Arabia was still heavily reliant on USA for many things.

Now the world has changed.
Musharraf may not have taken the "principled" option, but took the "practical option."
Musharraf said in his book that at that time it was better to save our homeland than be destroyed in some madman's crusade.

The same could be said of Taliban, they laid the pants down after 20 years of getting beat. Taliban could've agreed to give up foreign terrorists after 9/11 but they needed to have their people massacred and run around the world for shelter first.

a foolish proposal even with all the dislike i have for Musharaf.

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.” ― Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Talban had nothing to lose. Pakistan had everything to lose. And it was a trap to destroy Pakistan's strategic assets.

Yes the Pakistani people would suffer this multi-front war while you live comfortably in the USA. Where are your principles? Why be a namak haram against USA if you live there? Take a principled stand as you wish for others.

I was in Pakistan in 2001 as a kid though. I mean musharraf couldve been like the mamluk king who cut of the heads of the Mongol messengers asking them to surrender and than won the war in ain-jalut.

Victory is promised by Allah.

I'm in the USA but can clearly see right and wrong. America had no authority to demand Pakistan to go against Muslims of Afghanistan and join their war on terror.

Where there's a will there is a way. Pakistan was 200 million strong. Let's add another 300 million Muslims from around the world backing us up and joining the fight. It would've been a perfect Jihad.

LOL they don't need to invade Pakistan by US army, but they were able to destroy Pakistan with their B52/B2/B1B and then what should we do then tell me that, don't believe in blind faith, Islam preaches to think sensibly LOL

Billions of soldiers? From where?

Please also explain how his coup would have gained legitimacy? The western media would have painted him as Saddam Hussein on steroids, with actual weapons of mass destruction. Also lets not forget the terrorist sancturies mantra.

The rupee would have fallen through the floor and we would have been sanctioned to this day like Iran, most probably would have been invaded due Indian propaganda.

We would have had ZERO leverage, also USA would have just used Doha to station all combat assets and personnel.

Those babies would've been flying ducks. Pakistan, MashaAllah, was and is capable enough to secure the skies.

The Americans would have still invaded, it was never about Osama Bin Laden the idiot.

To the western media it would seem like saddam but in the Muslim world the masses would be gathering to confront the war ahead. Die in the cause of Allah would reach the other Muslim nations, they would have no choice but to prepare for the Jihad. General Hamid Gul said Pakistan can create world war 3 and he was right. You guys are selling Pakistan short. Where's your pride
