US: If China goes to war we will make it go back 100 years

Now that is very interesting. Are you 'hinting' at the technical level or at the operational level? Am beginning to suspect you do not know what you are talking about here.

No i clearly know what i am talking about as i read about it before, i just want to know what you are talking about beyond the bombings of obsolete Iraqi command and control systems.

You'll have to excuse his ad hominem attacks, he gets cranky sometimes.

It's not even clear whether the US will survive to see 2025. if we have enough nuclear deterrant, they will be too scared to lash out, and will go the way of the soviets, nice and quietly.

Just a final word before I log out, i like explanations on how the USA can maintain round the clock strike force to negate Chinese military defense, how would they get their aircraft carriers close enough to evade or bypass the Chinese naval forces and yet not easily strike down by chinese cruise missiles or even artilleries close to shore? and how would they maintain any logistical support if the Chinese were to knock out their forward bases around the pacific considering that the F-22 is really not as stealthy and efficient as all the hype that goes with it. I will go as far as to say that they are no planes on earth that could evade modern day radars. USA lost 2 so called stealth planes in Serbia, with many more casualties against 1960's soviet systems, how would they fare against the Chinese air defense. the Key is how are they able to launch any meaningful sustained campaign in a war with China. If these questions can be answered in a logical scientific way, instead of hypothetical war games like fantasy scenario that would be great.

Basically what this retired Navy officer thinks too.

The new rising China has normal nationalistic impulses of its own and a desire to become the dominant hegemonic power of East Asia and I just don’t see how we can alter that ambition while our own economic health is suffering from arterial sclerosis

The cool part is his son is actually a SEAL team leader in Afghanistan. He's seriously a smart guy and I always read his comments .

don't worry about gambit. he learned gambit physics, instead of real physics in school before he dropped out to become a US army janitor. he can't answer your question.

I believe China's advantage in a near-abroad fight is growing by the year.
Every dollar of Chinese military spend probably forces four or five dollars of American military spending (borrowed from China?) to offset.

There is no other way to stop China's growth than to start a world war. But China won't enjoy the hegemony US enjoyed in the past decade. China would have to share the world with India, though India would have a smaller role to play. But it won't be a monopoly like it was in the case of US.

The new world would be interesting, though not very amusing for the west.

He's an american.
No offense. He's good at some stuff, and bad at some just like everyone else. Let's leave it at that.

"US: If China goes to war we will make it go back 100 years ?"

Bahhh.....

People around the world could be easily tricked into this so called "wikileak" plot. I realised that it's a plot the second time after my initial excitment at the 1st day when I heard about the name.

1. USA has a quite effective worldwide CIA operating network. If this Swede was really to release sth that would remotely damage the US national interests, he would have been kidnapped secretly by CIA operatives, and likely be waterboarded in Gitmo as we speak, long before we as common men heard about this name, surely before his website got operational. The fact that it wasn't case tells a lot about the nature of the "Wikileak" contents.

2. Look at motives to be clearer on what's on here: so far of all the "wikileaks" I've seen, none of them, NONE remotely has hurt the US interests. What a "coinstance"! Some chitchat about Clinton, etc. was nothing compared with "secret info"on other countries ( most of them are US competitors / "enermies") which in retrospect has serves the US interests instead - what a "coinstance", again?

3. Having said that, I don't doubt that most of the leaks are real cables from diplomats. The thing is that diplomats, by definition, mean double-talking by manipulating their limited info and mostly hersays.

Most importantly, these very selected "leaks", I suspect, have actually been hand-picked by the US ( mainly CIA , Pentagan and the State Dept.) to reinforce the US national interests by stirring up troubles of, and among, its competitors / enermies:

---China CCP , utter corrupted ( yeah, we all knew it)

---CPC propaganda chief led Google attack and worldwide cyber attack ( serves US interests)

---newly elected Iraqi PM is a Bad Bad guy , so is elected Afgan president ( because they don't serve the US interests as expected )

---Russia is a mafia state , Putin is the head of Mafia( serves US interests)

---Berlusconi is a Bad Bad guy ( because US doesn't like his pipeline deal with Russia)

---Sarkozy is an emperor without clothes ( US doesn't like his getting too close to China)

--- CHina "to bandon NK" ( Washington version of "Art of War" is in full swing...)

--- Pakistan supports int'l terrorism ( need to say more?)

--- "we should be ready to use force" by OZ foreign minister Kevin Rudd , a well known Sinophile actually and one of the most pro-China Western politicians despite his "rat-******" blunder. ( US has never liked Rudd's soft stance on China from the moment he was elected as the PM; And the US is increasingly becoming discomfort with the fact that AUS and China are getting closer economically; thus any conflict /suspicion between the two would serve US interests. I bet that Jewish elites-controlled US neocons would be 100x more provocative compared to Rudd, but where are thier remarks in the "leak"? )

---The next "Wikileak", I guess, would be demonising Frau Merkel, saying that she is a gay and a anti-Turks racist ( US doesn't like Germany's firm stance on supporting China's Yuan in the last G20) ; And sth on Japan too , in order to stir up nationalists of both China and Japan...

... so on so forth, all having 1 common result :

They all "by chance" benefit the US national interests !!!

The method deployed here is Anglo-American's classic favourate: Divide & Rule

"Wikileak" ? All above "leaks" sound like a standard tactical manuscript straight out of the US State Department. Meanwhile Clinton must be laughing her socks off in her restroom after pretending to be angry in front of the media .

Wake up guys and smell the coffee!

good observation but this was not a wikileak, it is a publically posted article on the chinese version only of yonhap - they didn't dare translate it for fear of making themselves a laughing stock.

China is very powerful today and it is often said that China is now so powerful that it can not be contained by even US. But I doubt these claims.

If ever US engages China, it would be the World War III. And in such a war, every country out there will have all its options open. Industrial revolution will spark everywhere. A wave of patriotism will take over.

But most importantly, US will have Allies, imp ones, the ones that can effectively contain China. China on the other hand, will only have Pak and NK by its side. US will never be alone. Chances are even Russia might side with the US to contain China's growth and avoid a new world order.

So the only way to contain China would be a war. And in that case, China won't survive. No offence to Chinese brothers, just my thoughts.

hahah you think russia would join forces with the US cause they love the current world order?

ill tell you right now, WAR and no country involved survives

this might be true at the moment(in case of full scale war)between china and the US ...but i suspect as time goes on china will become strong enough to sucessfully defend itself and maybee even counter attack....
