Featured Federal cabinet allows dual nationals to contest polls: sources

If you have nothing but contempt for the natives, you will oppress them further with a legal mandate

Only your kind not the rest, also same applies to you about oversea paks contempt.

Most of Dual Nationals do not send money to Pakistan as they have not to feed their family back in Pakistan. Major chunk of remittances come from the countries which do not offer Dual Nationality.

Most of them are tempory/guest workers, that will go bak to pak. Oversea paks like usa or uk most likely are permanent citizens.

I know that people aren't going to like this but this is the most stupid decision that's come out of the govt. I don't doubt that expats are innately bad; however, this gives a huge loophole to be exploited. Even in the armed forces, we've tested candidates that are dual citizens but if they're to join they've to renounce their dual status and be a Pakistani citizen. I think a similar law would be good, allow them to contest but if they're to join then they've to subjected to our laws solely so no one with malintent can easily slip away.

We're off to a lovely start here.
I feel these native Pakistanis are thankless bunch.

Is that a favor on us? Do you wish to be thanked or perhaps awarded a medal? If that's so then please, keep your money.
Over past 40 years, overseas/dual National Pakistani have saved the country from bankruptcy through their foreign remittances.

I wonder where people who loot our nation go. I think airports are involved.
For past 40 years Pakistani treasury only had few weeks worth of foreign reserves.

That's a high horse to be on. That's not how economies work, my friend and the remittances that have flowed are a complicated matter because the economic connections that we've expereinced are multifaceted, for instance, much of the money that flows back to us is from areas where workers are not dual citizens, that's the issue. Secondly, this is a matter for those who are in the 'ruling' class, even here, locally, they seem to enjoy an unholy leverage without dual citizenry but with that the armour they have to abuse and run away is much more complicated. This isn't for the common man who's trying his best; it's for those who try to gain power and obviously we cannot know what's in their hearts the only protection we do have is of the law.
It is only due remittances of Pakistanis living abroad that Pakistan did not become bankrupt like Zimbabwe.

We've the same rule for joining the military service, dual citizens can apply but before joinning they've to be Pakistani citizens solely. Perhaps people in advisory roles can be dual citizens but office holders should be Pakistanis only as they're then subjected to our laws exclusively. The practice of it is another matter but once we've sorted out the papers can we progress on implementing the change.
And when those Pakistanis living abroad wants to participate in the political process, they are told that they are not eligible to participate in elections.
Here you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Just a small rebuttal, it's not about being CIA & RAW agents but dual citizens are actually subjected to two sets of laws and can slip away to other countries more easily than those who've to go through a process. The people you're talking about have had their leaders indoctrinated and directed once they were away from their homeland getting education or living abroad. The foot soldier has never been our problem, we're well equipped to deal with them and the laws strengthen us to do so as well. It's the leadership peril where they have this layer of protection and a leeway where such events occur, please ask anyone who's worked in the field or read some balanced views on this. I think we should be going by what is really happening rather than what we want to think is happening, brother.

East Pakistan is a whole other chapter.
And don't get me started on dual nationals being CIA & RAW agents. Native Pakistanis are pretty self sufficient in supporting RAW & CIA. Look at home grown movements of MQM, BLA and PTM which were all thrived without any dual national playing a part. And you have lost East Pakistan all by your own efforts without any dual national being part of it.
I think this is the one thing where I resonate what we feel, I mean us lowly locals, of course, we're not asking for any favors so don't expect us to 'thank' you. You don't ask for 'gratitude' from your equal or from your brother. If that's so, then please, by all means, don't help us. We're not asking for it. We'll figure it out, just like we're the only nation in the 21st century to have defeated a force that superpowers couldn't. If you think this is up for debate, then by all means, come with your points. I am a veteran of this war and I would love to put you in your place because we've won this out of blood that we have paid. No one gets to run away from this.
So now learn to show a little gratitude to the people who are putting $20 billion in Pakistani treasury every year so you can buy petroleum, auto mobiles and electricity.

So thanks but no thanks. We don't need you.

You know its natural law to fight for your rights in a land where you are born? The soil has as much influence on the crop as the seed.

You know, that if someone sent revenues to their parents country or the country they are born, native people should at least appreciate it instead of being sly about it. The excuse that the dual national is a risk, is fraud in the sense it will challenge the "real national security risk" like current corrupt pak government. Good luck

Dual nationals can be good too.
What is required is a proper vetting system. Eradicate the vermin whether local or dual nationals

No surprise there.

If munafiq follows his words before elections then he won't be a Munafiq right?

Thanks every one for eye opening answers, which taught me a lot. I was dragging this discussion on for a reason. I shared this thread with two of Whats App groups of PaK PAC and APPNA. You know APPNA who defeated Larry Pressler of Pressler amendment.

I always thought they kept painting too rosy of picture of HomeLand and how Homeland need us and such. Now I know for a fact its all bullshit & I would love to see their response to this thread when we meet next time.

So thanks but no thanks. We don't need you.

So this Pak Pac advocates Pakistani causes like Kashmir here in Washington DC and no one calls them security risk for USA interests over here. They frequently call us to spare to join them in D.C. Following is a recent conatact e-mail that they sent me.
Next time Pak Pac or any of other groups asked for help, I shall forward your 'No thank you' message to them and tell them to *uck off. If native Pakistani says they do not need us, why should we bother?

All & out and feeling much lighter.

As far as Pakistani American , I would say they are very patriot and community knows everyone very well and well knitted. We have a huge contribution in bring community together but also play a vital role in raising funds for Pakistan in the time of disaster. Everyone knows who is who. Specially PTI is well organized in North America and all its active members registered in Pakistan. Some people start criticizing without knowing the facts. Every Pakistani in US has Pakistan origin card and registered in Pak NADRA. So, GOP has access to lots of Pakistanis in foreign countries. Plus, they are registered voters. We are mobilizing Pakistani to get their registration at fast track for next election.
So, people shouldn't worry about dual nationality. PMLn leader/Senator Mushadiq Malik family is US citizen, and he himself is green card holder.
As far as stealing wealth from Pakistan is very difficult and impossible to move to US banks due to strict money laundering regulations.

I agree with everything except the money laundering bit

first fix your laws and governance. Look at Lahore incident, motorway is open but still process is going on who is going to be responsible for it. What kind of joke is this
