Turkish Engine Programs

Thanks. It seems that Turkey REAAAALLY accelerated the development of the engine as it seems to have gone years earlier in terms of ready status. How is that possible?

I also hope to hear some good news from your government over Indonesian-Turkish medium tank that have been under trial in Philippine.

The tank has also been included in Philippine military parade. But I guess due to Covid 19 outbreak, all of the future military acquisition will be delayed.

thank you! I too, an advocating for the Harimau. After doing a lot of research and looking around, I came to the conclusion that investing in Turkish military equipment might be a good way to go as it limits the "superpower meddling" when getting from the aforementioned. Plus, they have been accelerating development on all fronts, hence why it will only go up from there.

The acquisitions will still continue as planned as budgets are already allocated for them.

I read quite a while a go (last year I think), that Philippines were interested in Kaplan/Harimau capabilities. I think it was during the Moro city problems that PAF realized their armored vehicles from lacked punching power. A commander used palm tree strapped outside these vehicles as additional armor.

Just saw this on wikipedia: https://www.defenceweb.co.za/featur...ested-in-equipment-from-indonesias-pt-pindad/

My question is, is Turkey/FNSS still involved in the export activities or is it just PT Pindad?

As far as I know the Indonesian PT Pindad is quite active in promoting the tank abroad (and there is Indonesian government help as well in doing the promotion and approach). But since it is a 50:50 cooperation so FNSS will get 50% share on any tank being produced. So far the production line has been started to supply Indonesian Army. The contract value is 135 million USD, which is still quite small, but I believe it is only for the first batch since our Army has already made a long term plan to acquire 100 medium tanks.

This is some old news (a few months ago) but it seems that first 10 tanks of Indonesian army will be produced by FNSS and remaining 8 will be produced by PT Pindad.
And FNSS CEO has stated they expect 200 more order which indicates FNSS is taking part in the tanks to be produced in Indonesia as well.
