What's new

Pakistan's Own BVRAAM under Project Azm.

It will be SD 10 manufacturers and Pakistan joint production it's my view point

Is that guy who tweeted is authentic.. If not than why even discussing based on speculation.....

P. S project Azm is way over rated project as of now... There is very little information regarding it perhaps after 10 years there might be some stuff which we can really talk about

Last we heard of it, its design phases were in the last stages. ACM gave no more information. It is obvious, Pakistan wants to keep the project grounded in secrecy; furthermore, if you're developing a 5th generation jet, then your own BVR development for it is natural.

Hi,

Thank you---. This ego building process of " we want to build our own " needs to be stopped---.

The best the Paf can do is a JV. Pakistan does not need a failed or a delayed project---.

Failed mindset. Pakistan is 10p% capable. If we begin making our own weapons, then that means an end to logistic problems, a lot less imports, less dependency, and more say in international politics, probably export potential too.

If we don't have our indigenous Aesa Radar, EW suits and Weapon package then its like a Tejas. Thanks for this good news.
Indeed Very long range beyond visual range hypersonic missile is under works in Pakistan. While chinese are working on 2 different designs.

AZM will have domestic and chinese designs available once its air was air worthy. Main projects of AZM are avionics at this moment i i beleive. Which include high bandwidth high range radar and EWS.

Hi,

So the French italians british swedes japanese american israeli JV's are based on stupidity and the poverty stricken pakistani is the smart one who has barely enough funds to keep things floating---.

Who is this shahid guy?

And why do you consider him so sacred that his words are to be taken too seriously?

I mean, I am not saying that we can't make it or that there is not possibility that we are working on.
But should only belive official sources.
Pakistanis in general have developed this habbit of taking about random stuff and claiming to have more knowledge then the person in charge.
If you would ask a random pakistani, they would tell you the extraordinary capability we have and hidden it to be used later or revealed at the proper time.
Just like we are not drilling oil because foreigners would steal it.
We are getting jf17s during pm trip to USA, and people here have sworn and confirmed. Yet nothing happened. These are just fanboys near these big personalities. They ask random questions and get random one liners. They come here and make a thread about it.
Nothing more.

100%

problem is we also have an inferiority complex...experts like Shahid Lateef who initaited the project is telling is that JF17 bl3 is far better than f16 blk 52 but we have people here saying no we need f16.
so no matter how good the missile is people will say let's buy American or Chinese.
No problem brother what people say because PAF doesn't consult PDF for their plans and acquisition.... Their planning and view of the analyzing the equipment is best then anyone here... So Trust your Armed forces

For an indigenous air to air missile, Pakistan will be required to set up many more industries with a huge initial capital. The industries related to

  • semiconductors,
  • Integrated circuits,
  • alloys,
  • radars,
  • sensing equipment,
  • lenses,
  • batteries,
  • electronic warfare (to make missile jam proof)
  • and god knows how many more.
If we end up buying 70% of the stuff from the Chinese,Italians,French and Turkish, I think I'll stick with whatever the Chinese want to give us from their own inventory.

This approach is not limited to just air to air missiles, but is inevitably also translated to project AZM.

Either go with this approach, or wait for another 73 years so Pakistan can industrialize enough to provide for the dreams of the PAF leaders.

JF-17 Thunder = Light--Weight
F-16 Falcon = Medium-Weight

Two different platforms.

JF-17 Thunder is to replace F-6, A-5, F-7 and Mirage III,/5.

Project Azm (PF-65 Sultan) is to replace F-16s in the 2030s.

JVs means we don't waste money on reinventing the wheel

Half of India's problems have been caused by trying to reinvent the wheel and all they ended up with was a square vedic wheel

Then forced to repeatedly go back to the drawing board, buy off the shelf and get other countries involved to fix the problems

oh dear...i guess you know better than the man who started the jf17 program and delivered block 1 to the airforce..
thats exactly what i mean when i say our people find faults for nothing
