JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

"Please Santa, show us all the JF17 Block III, please Santa.. I am been good boy all year, done my home work, eaten all my greens. Please show me this elusive bird..."

:(
nah dude, sorry. JF17 Block III is NOT for the good kids, it's for the bad kids across the border who think that rafale + meteor would some how save there skins, only they get to see it...as the last thing they ever see. ;) 8-)

Not sure, what You are smoking ... :drag:

It will surely be a fine fighter, but to say "it will rule the skies in south Asia" is a bit overrated.
You are generally very correct in your posts. And I generally like to read of your posts.

@imrankhan7250 expressed his opinion, to which he is definitely entitled. The part of your post emboldened above, is uncalled for and is perhaps conduct (a bit) unbecoming of a mod, even if it was in fun.

Agreed ... I'm sorry :(

can u please name any indegeneous fighter in South Asia of thunder's class. If you cannot find one , that was the precise meaning of ruling the skies having localised eyes and claws.

Put it this way

Block 3 will be a top tier fighter

and should never be offered for export

max should be block 2 for export

I do not want to ruin the party, but Your statement did not specify that you meant an indigenous one and considering that this type is developed in China, has Chinese "eyes and claws" it is questionable if it is correct.

Again, it will be a fine fighter ... but we do not have to hype it as magical or undefeatable. Otherwise it remains what it is: a single-engined lightweight fighter with a decent but surely not top-notch engine and as such this will limit it dramatically.

But Why? If F-16Block72, F-18E/F, SU-35, Typhoons, Rafale, etc. all are available in market ... why not Thunder.
If you think it will give away some top notch secrets away ... believe me there is nothing in this fighter which is not available in market with far better performance parameters. Real deal is how it is employed. Look at IAF, they have managed to crash more than 40 4+ Gen fighters since 1994 ... whose fault is that, mainly Indians. A fighter jet alone is just a single piece of overall national air power. Training, war fighting doctrine, tactics, weapon package, force multipliers, over all balance of power in the sky at a given time ... these all matters to a great extent in any outcome. We need to emerge as exporters of front line fighters and credible suppliers ... only then we will be able to fund future programs.

@Deino

What does the engine have to do with the aircraft---it starts---it makes the aircraft fly with the needed load---its spool up time is very fast---its maintenance is very low---it is very cost effective for pakistan---.

Travelling at 500 knots it takes the aircraft the same distance an enemy aircraft would travelling at 500 knots---.

Every bullsh-itter talks about the engine of this aircraft but cannot point to ONE REAL PROBLEM that the engine has---.

The EW package and BVR missiles are superior to the enemy aircraft.

Keeping aside the F35 and the F22---chinese are not the concern---there is no other 'magical aircraft' in the arena---. So---what is the issue---.

Is the issue that the J31 is a copy of F35---????
