Iran launching missiles towards ISIS positions

Nice to see Iran did not wait to retaliate. I will wait and see results of what they struck. Hopefully it had military significance and not a PR stunt for domestic consumption like US CM strikes.

US was likely informed via back channels (Russia/Iraq) that a strike would be coming in advance in the area. Iran like all countries displays professional military courtesy and protocol.

SATS would have picked up the BMs shortly after launch. In order to prevent confusion, if trajectory was unknown than order could be given by US to ATTEMPT (keyword attempt) to intercept them. If Zolfighar was used, it be hard to intercept them either way.

I'm surprised more people aren't commenting on this. I checked multiple news sites and it seems this recent development has to yet to pick up significant web traffic.

Multiple sources confirm the US base was NOT hit, and was allegedly NOT the intended target.

HOWEVER, a whole slew of chatter is now taking place in the Pentagon as to whether or not this will be PORTRAYED as "an Iranian attack upon the United States Military" in Syria, thereby opening the door to war with Iran that some in the US seem to desperately want.

Sources in multiple positions to actually KNOW, are telling me "this is the mistake they have been waiting for Iran to make."

Right now . . . . this very minute . . . . is a VERY VERY DANGEROUS MOMENT FOR THE WORLD. If dishonest people inside the US government portray this as an Iranian missile launch against US forces, war will be next. Stay tuned.

US could use this attack as an "excuse"...we will see...

Propaganda.

Without knowing what target was hit, it’s impossible to know the distance from US military assets. It could have been over 100KM+ from the nearest US military position for all we know

It’s hit the news wires in last 2 hours and it’s a Sunday night in america.

Tomorrow there will be coverage of this.

But so far US hasn’t commented on any Iranian Missile strike (Syria 2017, Kurdistan 2018, and today).

But given how pragmatic Iran thinks, this strike so close to US assets is unprecedented given the current political climate.

Something has changed within Iran recently between this and the recent revealing of video of Iranian Navy harrassing USN aircraft carrier.....Iran is entering increased aggressive rhetoric circa 2010.

I would expect to see more weapons unveiling’s if this continues. As Iran is known to unveil new weaponary when it feels threatened.

Hmm.... Seems a little bit too fantastical but it wouldn't be the first time the US has use some BS so justify a war with another nation. The recent events regarding Iran and US are indeed concerning though.

That doesn't really help much though does it? The US will, if it wants, say that our forces were in the vicinity of the attack during some operations or whatever and then the rest will pan out in whatever way it pans out. Facts don't matter in the 21st century anymore. Only headlines made up by those who control media etc, etc...
