PM releases 1 b discretionary fund to son for Umra package for Murree

A discretionary fund of more than Rs one billion has been disbursed by the Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi to his son, under the free Umra package for Murree tehsil, entrusting him the responsibility of sending people for Umra free of cost.
As the preparations are in full swing for the ensuing general elections of 2018 PM Abbasi has released discretionary funds of more than Rs one billion to his son Abdullah and entrusted him to spend the funds in the 15 union councils of Murree tehsil to send the elite class for performance of free Umra.
Ignorant of religious matters, the son started the scheme under the name of late grandfather, Khaqan Abbasi Shaheed Umra Package (Scheme) abolishing the difference between Mahram and Non-Mahram.
The widowers of old age and unmarried women under the scheme are being sent in routine for Umra with the groups of non-Mahrams.
Up till now 1000 intending pilgrims have been sent to perform Umra free of cost.
The Blue Aires seats available will be used for this purpose in future.
Saudi Government is beginning to adapt to the condition of women pilgrims going for Umra-Hajj without the Mahram.
Hence through the Umra Package (Scheme) a large number of women pilgrims are being sent to Saudi Arbaia without Mahrams.
When contacted by the Daily Morning Mail, the Free Umra in-charge Saud Arshad Abbasi confirmed that PM Abbasi before the ensuing general elections to create conducive atmosphere has given discretionary funds amounting to more for free Umra to the people of Murree tehsil for obtaining planned favourable polling results and exert pressure on the general public as a tool of pre-poll rigging.
Sources have also verified that PM Abbasi has entrusted the responsibility to his son to send 120 pilgrims each out of 15 union councils of Murree Tehsil.
Whereas the same pattern of free Umra will be adopted in Tehsil Kohuta also.
An official on the condition of anonymity told the Daily Morning Mail that it is the first time that a large number of women are being sent without Mahrams. He disclosed that intentionally in some cases sons and mothers are being kept separate on different flights and in hotels.
When contacted the in-charge Masud Arshad Abbasi to know his views on the matter he said that Saudi government has begun to relax the condition of Mahram for a specific age group.
He also verified that Abdullah without any other partner meets all the necessary expenditures himself.
