This latest bootlicking by David Cameron follows a disturbing new trend in South Asia affairs.

We can all debate why India has become the West's darling, but the fact remains that it has and, with its increasing clout, India has raised the bar for anyone wanting to curry favor: It is no longer enough for them to praise India, they must explicitly attack Pakistan.

From Hillary to Holbrooke to Obama and now Cameron, it all fits a pattern.

It is even true in Australian media. On 15th August, the media here not only shows Indian films and cultural programs, but they also throw in a few anti-Pakistan news stories or documentaries.

Very True ..agreed with you :agree:

To add to this trend is the reports, revelations and documents that point to an involvement of Pakistani establishment, non state actors and people from banned organisations. Pakistan can console itself and scrutinize all such reports but should also consider the impact such events have on the perception of people at home and abroad. Members on PDF have always ridiculed such reports but as mentioned above, the reason it is finding favor cannot be brushed away.

No doubt India has raised the stakes for engagement to a blank and clear cut condemnation of terror either in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India or abroad. This single stand that terror irrespective of the motive is wrong is finding support in many quarters.

Many people find it difficult to express a need for introspection and this is unreasonable. Even if the final conclusion derived out of introspection is on the lines of "Evil India" it is worth introspecting. Intolerance to anything that is Indian given the increasing number of target audience for education, finished products and services will lead to nowhere but frustration.

I disagree.

Diplomatic and media attacks on Pakistan have nothing to do with terror per se. We have always been in the pro-Zionist western media's cross hairs, especially after we went nuclear, and before any proliferation issues were raised.

Terror is just the latest excuse to bash Pakistan, to placate India. To put another way, even if 9/11 or Mumbai had never happened, the West would have found some other reason to lambast Pakistan. At the risk of being crude, do you really think the West gives a damn about Mumbai?

It has to do with pleasing and propping up India, which has become central to the West's policy against its perceived future threat from China.

@Developereo

Well It isn't something strange. It is like a zionist helping the other zionist. India is a very active part of Zion league so it gets all the privileges it deserves for being the part of the league. Zionists are very good when it comes to helping their friends.

I think you are over estimating the need west has to bash up Pakistan. The whole terrorism angle aside, there is no convergence or divergence of objectives between a US/UK/EU and Pakistan. If Soviet angle wasnt there in 1970's / 1980's and the Afghanistan/Taliban issue wasnt there since 2001, Pakistan probably wouldnt have figured in any plans of the West.

You are right, West doesnt give a damn about Mumbai, but can not ignore India at this time. It may be a counter balance to China or because of the size of our economy.. As they say, there are no permanent friends or enemies, only interests...

15th August?? what year are you talking about to we have just got to 1st August.

Also care to elaborate on these films and programs plus anti Pakistan news stories.
All details, but I am sure you can deal with providing them.

Don't forget the film 'Son Of A Lion' which has just recently been shown in the media.

Zionism (Hebrew: ציונות‎, Tsiyonut) is a nationalist Jewish political movement that, in its broadest sense, calls for the self-determination of the Jewish people and a sovereign, Jewish national homeland. Since the establishment of the State of Israel, the Zionist movement continues primarily to support and advocate on behalf of the Jewish state, and its current existence.

The West doesn't need to bash Pakistan. If it wasn't for the Afghan war, most Western powers would ignore Pakistan since it doesn't have a significant market or natural resources. Even the nuclear issue is a non-issue since no one really thinks Pak nukes are insecure.

The only reason the West demonizes Pakistan is firstly because of Israel and, lately, to please India.

This happened in previous years. I don't remember exact news items but old anti-Pakistan 'documentaries' were rehashed, the usual terrorism 'experts' get interviewed again, etc.

That definition is outdated. Zionism has morphed somewhat since it was started by Theodor Herzl. Not all jews are Zionists, and not all Zionists are jews. In fact, some of the most ardent Zionists are evangelical christians who support Israel as a precursor to the return of Jesus.

The west will bash Pakistan if the actions within Pakistan is against the interests of the west. Is that not the same with the West, East, North or South ?

Yeah we already know that.

:)

# For reasons unknown, Jews are in every discussion. Please leave them alone as India raising its stakes has nothing to do with them. 99 out of 100 in India can't point where Israel is on the map.

This is rediculous! What common people has do in this discussion. We are talking about games plyed at higher level where everybody knows that zionism has been using india against Pakistan.

The importance of Pakistan's so-called sanctuaries is overblown. Pakistan has become the scapegoat for NATO and Afghan government's failure in Afghanistan.

Put it this way. Even if some Taliban leaders are hiding in Pakistan, the question remains why they find it so easy to find sympathizers and accomplices throughout Afghanistan. Is ISI escorting them throughout Afghanistan and forcing local Afghans to cooperate with them? The resurgence of the Taliban has more to do with NATO's atrocities and the Afghan government's ineptitude, but instead Pakistan gets all the blame.

everybody knows that zionism has been using india against Pakistan.

I don't think Indian politicians, unlike Pakistan's, let their country be 'used' by anyone, least of all Israel. Even this current honeymoon with the West is being milked expertly by India to get the most benefit. The West will find out eventually that they've been duped and India remains independent. Credit where credit is due.

No problem, we should also forment a policy of them denouncing Indian involvement in Baluchistan and brutalities in Kashmir if they want safe passage of their soldiers in afghanistan.
