The world's most valuable company just broke a new record.

Apple shares finished regular trading at $176.24 on Wednesday, up less than 1% but crowning the company with a jaw-dropping market cap of $904 billion. It's the first time that Apple has been valued at over $900 billion at the end of a day of trading, although the company has crossed the mark in intraday trading before.

The next closest company — Alphabet — has a market cap of $728 billion.

Apple has had a very good few months. It's stock is up 52.6% in 2017 so far, and it recently released a sales forecast for its holiday quarter of more than $84 billion in revenue, which would be a record for Apple.

"We're literally firing on all cylinders," Apple CEO Tim Cook said on the company's earnings call last week.

Its latest product, the iPhone X, seems to be a hit despite a high price, with supplies backordered for weeks. And Apple stands to be one of the primary beneficiaries if the Republican party passes tax reform and allows Apple to bring some of its over $200 billion in cash and securities held overseas back to the United States at a reduced rate.

Just a inflated company people will soon figure out the phones from 2-3 years ago were good enough they did not needed a upgrade and they stock price will fall down

There is a trend now being reported that people are intentionally disconnecting themselves from Cell phone data plans because it takes too much focus away from doing real life activites vs clicking on IPHONE apps

Look at the PE ratio of Apple versus competitors. Then come back and tell us how overvalued it is!

Apple Captured 79% of Global Smartphone Profits in 2016

"Global smartphone profit stood at $53.7 billion, with Apple's iPhone profit accounting for $44.9 billion."

If you add in Samsung you'll see all the other dozen or so companies with 10's of millions of sales are making tiny profits.

offcourse if a new iphone cost 1180 euros vs 499 euros of samsung S8( street price)

10 years ago Apple did a great job, but now unfortunately they are no more original just look at the Iphone X design, its shit compared to S8.
On the oher hand you can argue back about face ID, but u cannot pay 500 euros extra for just that it is unacceptable.

Well all smartphones have pretty much lost the "wow" factor. Not many people are tossing last years phones out because this years are so so much better.

I don't expect Apple's market share to grow.

Apple is looking for new product lines.

I can bet my left nut you know balls about share price evaluations ! PE ratio in and of itself don't mean shit !

overvalued stock.
i am apple user and i must say every single money i paid worth it. My 4S is still in working mode since 7 years now and current i am using 6plus since two years and still batter then any other phone. Next year i will buy new I phone because now Iphone X changed the technology, so next version is in my list to buy

I bought a Macbook pro in 2012 mid jun model. It's still running like a breeze with backup well into 2+ hours.

God only knows how have i treated it. I have rolled over it in college days. Overcharged the battery for days and whatnot. My next purchase of PC ever will be a Mac pro !

Then you just lost your left nut!

Find your own marker of valuation and make the comparison.

How is the iPhone X not original? Have your tried one in person? At least the iPhone X does not explode!

If you don't like it, please don't buy it. If you think you can innovate better than Apple, try it. A boatload of companies have died trying to do so.

And don't let your jealousy get the better of you.

Often the other companies are making a loss. When Samsung had their fiasco with their exploding phones and ran a loss, Apple accounted for more than 100% of the profits of the smartphone industry!

In other words, only Apple can invest in the next generation technologies. So watch the gap between Apple and others to continue to widen.

Google the definition of literally it means figuratively now too

Only because people continue to misuse the term just like data is a plural word and yet is wrongly used as a singular. :D

Yes i tried the phone, and as i said before the phone is good in general, but it's price is ridicolous.
u cannot pay 1180 euros for a phone that is good as 600 euros phone, but have a front camera that allows u to unlock your ohone with your face.

And tell me if apple can invest in new tech, why we don't see these tech on smartphones. for example the rear double camera trend begun with Huawai P9 not with apple.
