Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan said that the ban not be removed till objectionable content is removed.

The PTA DG told the court that he contacted authorities to get objectionable content removed but he didn’t receive any response. Justice Khan remarked that the app should remain blocked till authorities respond.

Government is asleep when Malik Riaz's daughters freely break into others' house with armed men, but loses its shit over an app. I expected better from PTI's Pakistan.

Perfect decision. This platform has garbage mostly. But - Paksitan should start something like Tik-Tok of its own. This is a potential opportunity for the Government to start alternate broadcasting services which we know work, have popularity in the public and are working for other businesses.

Pakistan is behind, much behind the world on information and broadcasting warfare. Look at this picture:

Traditional mediums
  • Newspaper - Pakistan doesn't have a state newspaper.
  • PTV uses television medium - good we have something in that domain.
  • Radio Pakistan uses radio medium - good we have something in that domain.
New mediums that are shaping the world
  • Internet-based video broadcasting (YouTube, Vimeo etc) - Pakistan has a gap here.
  • Internet-based Audio broadcasting (sound-cloud, podcasting etc) - Pakistan has a gap here.
  • Internet-based text broadcasting (twitter) - Pakistan has a gap here.
  • Internet-based image broadcasting (Instagram) - Pakistan has a gap here.
  • Internet-based social network (Facebook) - Pakistan has a gap here.
We have over 220 million population that is enough to make any initiative successful. The state of Paksitan needs to understand broadcasting mediums are not earning money resources, but are instruments of cultural domination and information warfare, and Pakistan's entire narrative is in the hands of other states. If Youtube, Twitter, Facebook or other social mediums decides to ban our PM, or block Paksitani accounts for the liberation of Kashmir, you cannot do anything.

Newspapers, radios and TVs (traditional antenna-based networks) will be obsolete in the next 20 years - and news mediums, internet and wireless are here to stay until another resource comes to replace them. Pakistan is unfortunately not adopting the revolution. It has infect missed the moment but if you do not have any of your internet-based broadcasting stations, you will end up using tik-tok, Twitter and Facebook and will keep experiencing "Auroat March" and "Mujhay Keu Nikala" type problems.

Slow poisoning is the only possible poisoning - and Paksitan has been the victim of it. It should wake up and develop the tools that it needs to keep its identity and National spirit intact.

Banning apps is not a solution. Once you ban tiktok, people will start using Youtube Shorts or Insta Reels.
A better solution is to launch alternative apps. IT ministry should encourage private sector to produce alternatives such that institutions will be able to better manage user data privacy controls and filter indecent content.

gov cant provide anything but impose moral on citizens . if someone dying gov have no medics no education no services the real job of gov . but they are worry of moral policing shamefully
clean drinking water? NO
all we doing in using underground water reservoirs, don't know whats the future generation of Pakistan going to drink
water levels have dropped a lot for ground water
Sui gas in winter? No
need to buy a gas cylinder every week
basic garbage collection? and clean streets No
used to be 2-3 times a week now only once a week since PTI came.
You need to call army to clean the nallas and stuff, example is Karachi

for these basic needs it feels like we are on our own. People in power dont care or bother or busy in blocking apps and stuff

Even tiktok

All the above developed by individuals or private company. Thing is if we been taught in schools, college and university just make ratta of 10 pages to pass the exam and that exam is the bench mark authority of how smart you are in our society then we end up having gaps like this.

We don't have to learn something new here. There are established psychological and application patterns. You know how to create a tweet, what to include in it, what additional features should be added. China has made its own platforms learning from the west - and we can too. Nothing is impossible when a Nation is up to it. All you need is an initiative.

The Nation has funds, the Nation has the manpower, the Nation has the infrastructure, Nation has a reason. The Nation should work on it.

If the state is up to it, count me in.
