Pak to start production of high tech Al-Khalid 2 tank

As discussed before a major part in that was played by budgetary constraints due to war on terror. The money was taken from these development and procurement projects to be pumped into the operations, that’s why the navy fell so far behind too, their entire budget was absent. HIT always had a capacity for 50+ tanks a year but this could never be achieved. Some years AK wasn’t even produced due to these issues.
The good news is things are finally back on track. They are now making 35 tanks a year and will increase it to 50/year by 2022, hopefully HIT can be expanded after that like PAC was.
When they move to AK2 , do they continue to AK1 as well or not
There is program Al Haider, is it completed with VT 4 purchase of any other tanks will be part of it ?

AK-1 will almost certainly be discontinued when AK-2 enters production.
The Al-haider program was never locked under the condition of being indigenous, VT-4 has filled the role of that program, Pakistan hoped to get full ToT with VT4 (or whatever tank it would purchase in that program) and produce it locally, but this did not occur, however the deal we get is good enough to where it’s not a big issue. Pakistans own tank development now will be solely focused on AK-2.

Exactly my question, if we don't got ToT with VT4 for now, then may be Al - haider program is still open but goes on hold and in future when Chinese got advance tank then type 99A then may be they provide ToT and PA will wait for it.

Or on other hand PA will wait and get some other tank from other country maybe 4th gen or 3.5 gen with ToT

Because every country rven india started working on 4th gen tanks ... PA have to consider 4th till 2030

Pak cant afford experiments it should wait and see what 4th gen tanks are till then they can keep upgrading ak, ak1, t80ud, vt4 and type 85

Yes in future can induct some 4th ecnomical and stable plateform once they were adopted in indian army

As indian are getting 350 plus light tanks, so PA should consider it to, open a thread for it

Al Haider was supposed to be a localized VT-4. It never happened as production of high tech VT-4 was beyond our capacity.
Plus, the capacity issues and timeline limitations were also there. China can deliver VT-4 at much higher rate than Pakistan can produce it at home.
The future tank fleet will entirely compose of AK variants, VT-4, T80UD, T85UG and AZs. There won't be any other tank in Army; no Altay, no T-99A, no Type-15.

If VT-4 is above of HIT capacity then how can they able to produce AK2 in future, which is near to VT-4 in term of capabilities @Tipu7
