What's new

JF-17 Block III's proposed AESA Radar KLJ-7A

Basically 200 degree ie more than 180 which covers complete frontal coverage so it goes beyond it by 10 degree on each side

Or it supports launch and moving away from target and still providing update to its launched missile

But not sure if three plates goes more than 200 degrees ?? Or pretty much Same with benefit of no mechanical parts and associated additional weight penalty

The 3-arrays can 300 degree, usually one aese array can cover +-60 degree.

Yes thts the case low end aesa for block 1 & 2 easy to fit , no need design change .
High end aesa for block 3 .
Block 3 is beast in making , powerful TVC engine , EW , stealthy coatings , lil bit design upgrade with alot of surprises , frontal cone uplift .
wait for couple of months and u ll air superiority beast pakistani skies . Competitive to any available 4.5 gen jets

No TVC in block3 and it ain't coming in a couple of months.

Someone says Block III has chosen the low version of KLJ-7A already.
it depends on PAF's need.

They cannot change direction...
Pakistan has something very similar through the H-2 & H-4 precision strike weapons. https://quwa.org/2017/03/16/profile-denel-dynamics-raptor-stand-off-weapon/

Chinese have matched the Spear II: Its called the CS/BBM2 back in 2014

If the requirement is made to match all the design parameters of the SPEAR III including even a longer range; the chinese could deliver quickly and at a lower price.

China has unveiled an advanced under-development AESA radar to equip the JF-17/FC-1 fighter jet developed for Pakistan.

Dubbed the LKF601E, the advanced air cooled radar was unveiled during the 2018 Zhuhai Air Show.

The single engined JF-17 is flown by Pakistan Air Force and has bagged export orders from Myanmar and Nigeria.

The Active Scanned Electronic Array (AESA) radar is the latest evolution in radar technology, which replaces the mechanically steered antennas with electronic ones. Along with improved detection capability, the AESA radar improves stealth, as it spread signal across a wider frequency range.
