Iraq to buy 12 JF-17 Thunder jets from Pakistan

I hope the news is not manipulated.

Isn't the same amount and number of jets which Argentina has also allocated it:

The Iraqi government has approved the amount of 664 million USD for the purchase of 12 fighter aircraft from Pakistan.
Exactly my thoughts, quite odd.

I always thought JF-17 would be perfect for Iraq. B3 is better than the downgraded F16 they acquired......and a fraction of the price.
Whose money is Iraq spending?
Oil money......

batch manufacturing thing. why you fixated on numbers? do you have some ancient book of astrology that you judge news by?

the sale maybe legit but Iraq ain't paying
Barter for oil. Its Pakistan's number one import and Iraq's number one export. Trade between Mesopotamia and Indus Valley civilization has gone on for 1000's of years.

Possible....But its being reported in main stream news papers.

B3 punches way above its class in DCS.

Saw some DCS simulations, mirage 2000 was a close competitor in close combat but at low altitude JF17 kicked mirages butt with impunity

You would struggle to convince anyone in Pakistan to move her energy supplies to move through the straits of Hormuz.

Iraq's motivation for JF17 can be found in JF17s first official kill.

Nuff Said....

Top official sources told The Nation that several rounds of negotiations between Pakistan and Iraq on fighter jets continued this year at the highest level but finally completed with the visiting Iraqi defense delegation led by Deputy Commander Iraqi Air Force Major General (Pilot) Muhammad Majeed Mahdi Mahmood and top Pakistani officials. Gen Mehdi is on an official visit to Pakistan.

According to the sources, the defense deal was approved by both the Iraqi and Pakistani governments, and a formal agreement is expected to be signed in Islamabad next month. The Iraqi government has approved the amount of 664 million USD for the purchase of 12 fighter aircraft from Pakistan.
Iraqi Defence Minister Lieutenant General Juma Inad Saadoun earlier visited Pakistan in May during which he held meetings with Pakistani leaders and officials and discussed Iraq’s interest to buy JF-17 Thunder fighter jets from Pakistan.

Pakistan has earlier organized a major defense exhibition in Baghdad in April 2021 in which JF-17 Thunder thrilled the Iraqi airspace with its extraordinary performance and won the hearts of the government and people of Iraq.

Chairman JCSC Gen Nadeem Raza had also visited Iraq in March 2021 and held meetings with top Iraqi defense officials and discussed defense cooperation between the two countries.

The sources told The Nation the production of JF-17 Thunder Block 3 is in the production process at PAC Kamra.

Iraq is the third country that would be purchasing these fighter jets from Pakistan. Earlier Argentina has agreed to buy 12 fighter jets from Pakistan. Nigeria had also purchased three fighter jets from Pakistan Airforce last year and these fighter jets were handed over to Nigerian Air Force this year.

Seems suspect the amount is the exact same as that supposed Argentine deal.

We have to induct it in our own fleet first.
And then a different version for exports.
Or are we fool enough to export the same version that we are going to induct.
What if another "operation diamond " happens.
Is it okay to export our most dependable jet to every nation?
