The Directorate-General for the Naval Intelligence (reporting name: DGNI), unofficially as Naval Intelligence or Nav Intel, is the military intelligence agency within the Pakistan Navy tasked with primarily the Navy's modernization efforts and advancing knowledge of protecting Nation's interests from seaborne attacks.

The Naval Intelligence is tasked with the primary objective of providing critical information to the Pakistani military's combat branches ranging from gathering advanced knowledge on threats of terrorism and briefing on potential targets to the Marines Recon teams and the Special Service Group Navy (SSGN).

As budget increases their role should be increased. Adding more internal as well as external role specially in espionage and taking out enemies.

What of the Marines?

They should be tasked with installing, running, and maintaining a comprehensive network of undersea sensors covering Pakistan's entire EEZ.

Focus on the littoral Area; especially within 100 Nautical Miles of the major Ports (second slide)

Use off shore oil platforms as Sensor nodes, and Build something like the ACTUV to followup on ASW Tracks; specifically a design like the SMX-25 from Euronaval 2010. Get to the search area on the surface at 30-40 knots, and search the area and under the water in the diferent thermal layers in submersible mode.

Currently An Indian Submarine is always suppose to be on Station just outside of Karachi to watch the Pakistan Navy movements. They plan to put one on Ormara, Pasni, and Gwadar as the Pakistan Navy Shifts to those ports.

Creating "Bastions" of at least 100 nautical Miles off the coast of Pakistan where the PN knows what and who is operating on or under the sea surface is crucial. Once the Pn can control this area, it can expand further into its EEZ.
