On July 27, 2019, China Coast Guard 2501 fleet cruises in the territorial waters of China's Diaoyu Islands.
 
China Coast Guard administration on ships numbering has been changed, instead of 1XXX for North Sea command, 2XXX and 3XXX for East Sea and South Sea command, it is now changed to 1XXX and 2XXX for East Sea Com; 3XXX, 4XXX and 5XXX for South Sea Com; and 6XXX for North Sea Com.

6303 is a ship from North Sea Command (6, 1st digit), and it is in the 3,000 tons class (3, 2nd digit), and ship#3 of the displacement class (03, 3rd and 4th digit).

No mention of numbering for province based ships.
