PAF Reveals Loitering Smart Munitions

@Bleek

We are quite aggressive towards Indian/Hindu threat

If Pakistan sees itself as a Citadel of Islam, then it makes sense for it to be aggressive and uncompromising against the Hindu; but give an amount of latitude to fellow Muslims.

To answer Hussain bhai (@hussain0216), Afghanistan sees itself as an Afghan Muslim nation and not as just an Islamic nation, so it doesnt have to be so charitable towards Pak or other Muslim neighbours.

I mean how is it unnecessary attempt and what exactly is being "reinvented" here. Its a low cost swarm suicide UAV and that is pretty much how every low cost suicide UAV looks.
You cannot sustain Harops or ASNs in anything larger than a skirmish. Low cost munitions are basically required now.
Parallel setup of NASTP being setup from the ground up when already too many organizations exist that have decades of subject matter experts and inertia. This is what I mean by reinventing the wheel. Pakistan is not a country that can afford these ill-thought out "plans" with such high risks and low chance of economic success.

Are you not aware of our history?

Every Chief in every org or PM comes up with their own brainchild without any forethought or planning or homework. Aik din badshah salamat hukm dete hain, aur phir sari machinery us kay peechay lag jati hai.

Just look at SIFC.

Integrated Dynamics should have been handed over these loitering munition projects
They have good line of such products in loitering munition category.

Lo ji, an Indian Hindu is telling us what or how Afghans see themselves as Muslim Afghan or Afghan Muslim. Surprise, surprise, ...

You are one Hindu i just can't hate man, when are you coming to Islam?

Don't insult him, he is always respectful and simply gives his personal analysis

Not insulting. But just pointing out the fact that it's none of his business if a Muslim is first Afghani or Pakistani and then Muslim or vice versa. Like many other evil people, he seems trying to sow the seeds of hatred among Muslims.

Pakistanis are too culturally passive due to centuries of colonial domestication which is my honest view. This can easily be changed but it does require a systematic effort from civil-military leadership.

You will never see such pacifist behaviour from countries like Turkey or even Afghanistan, they are incredibly aggressive to anyone who threatens their interests - especially anyone that violates their sovereignty
These knee-jerk comparisons do not help us.

Being incredibly aggressive against TTP inside of Afghanistan has more downsides than upsides for Pakistan. Also, keep in mind that Pakistan and Turkey don't have the same operating environments.

First thing, any kinetic action that Pakistan carries out in Afghanistan does the following:
a) It sets up a precedence that overt action against a neighboring country is legitimate (when it is not and is illegal).
b) It would push Taliban to counterbalance against Pakistan by getting closer to entities inimical to Pakistan's interests which is bad for us in the long run.
c) It makes our western borders as hot or hotter than our eastern borders and thus increase pressure on Pakistan specially when we are in a bind due to the economic crunch. Deployment of additional forces etc. is an expensive affair.
d) Lastly, kinetic action can only do so much. At most it is like cutting your grass, weeds which will grow back over time.

As such, Pakistan needs to use other measures like the approach with fast tracking repatriation of Afghans to IEA, or by putting pressure on the Taliban or by going slow on trade incentives or by not brokering/sponsoring acceptance of IEA with other countries or if push really comes to shove, then even approaching NA elements.

So as much as it would give people instant gratification if some TTP targets were taken out by force, long term success would be through engagement and turning tight the non-kinetic screws on the Taliban.

I heard similar BS back in 2007-9. Even when TTP were knocking on Islamabads gate.
It was nonsense then and is nonsense now and erudite English prose can't hide it.

All it accomplishes is making adversaries bolder and inclined to further action.
I agree. The establishment has a colonised mindset not worthy of a modern nuclear power. Very good at crackdowns domestically, but horrendous at being anything more than servile in foreign policy.

even for TTP.. there wd be repercussions too whether we use these inside Afg or Pak.
So? There are worse repercussions as to not using them.

Flying pipe bombs?lol

Unnecessary attempt at reinventing the wheel
We said much the same about the Shahed-136, flying Doritos. Yet they have been proven effective.
This is the era of experimentation.

The most scariest weapon PA has against its enemy (Pakistani awam) is that they can kidnap anyone's mother/sister/daughter and make their p0rn videos to blackmail them, nothing or no loitering munition can beat this.

That’s why even for kinetic action it must be done in a way which doesn’t create a big issue. The more successful kinetic operations in enemy territory is publicized, the more issues it creates. Covert kill teams already on ground if needed.
