Significant drop in defence budget 2023

Government has announced an 11 percent increase in defence budget compared to 2022.
But this increase is in PKR.
Since last year PKR has devalued so much against USD that in dollar terms defence budget has fallen from 7.5 billion USD in 2022 to 6 4 billion USD this year.
A decrease of about 1 billion USD.
In 2022 PKR 1530 Billion were allocated to defence . Dollar was 204.
Today 1804 billion PKR have been allocated to defence. Dollar is 286.
That's 6.4 billion USD.
Meaning a billion USD less this year for Psycho Munir
There are 4 major Countries who always upset & extremely worries about defence & budget of PAKISTAN (Israel,America,India & Iran) & these 4 always somehow trying to destabilize PAKISTAN sometime Infront & sometimes from undercover...

Meanwhile, India's defense budget stands at 74 billion USD and is projected to reach the 100 billion USD milestone next year. However, when viewed as a percentage of GDP, it's still a very small amount for India.

Nope, your defense budget ratio to GDP is considered high already.

The term small should be given to country like Indonesia with 2023 defense budget at 0.7 percent of projected GDP in 2023 and 2024 defense budget at 0.6 percent of its projected GDP in 2024 (based on IMF conservative GDP projection)

Pakistan defense budget ratio to its GDP is around 3-4 percent of its GDP ( very high- only wealthy countries can do this like USA or Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Singapore)

India defense budget ratio to its GDP is at around 2 - 3 %

Most countries spend 1-2 percent of its GDP for defense.

100 billion USD for defense while your state revenue in 2023 is around 500 billion USD. That defense budget is not small dude

Defence budgets composition and total outlay is arrived at after a detailed threat perception , actual and potential . What "most countries" spend is not the way to determine a defence budget.
Each countries requirements are specific to that countries circumstances and threats.
India's defence budget is extremely modest in relation to its potential adversary China

Pakistan defense budget is at 3.8 % and India is at 2.7 % of their respected GDP in 2021. Data is from SIPRI.

Thailand’s defense budget as a % of GDP is 1.17%.

They’ve got a mediocre army to put it politely, but it pays to not have enemies and be on good terms with everyone.

Most of your defence budget goes to pay salaries and pensions for your personnel.

So your true defence budget to improve your capability is next to nothing.

You are no match to China.

China has already surpassed the USA in PPP terms.

India significantly allocates funds to research and development, prioritizing the use of indigenous systems to enhance its military capabilities. This strategic approach enables India to potentially scale its military to rival major powers like the US, Russia, or China without matching their expenditures, particularly by sourcing equipment domestically. The recent substantial order of 183 LCA Tejas MK1A by the Indian Air Force marks a significant milestone in this endeavor.

Blah Blah Blah.....Take your propaganda somewhere else.

Indian Defence Budget both as a % of your GDP and as a % of your Total Goverment Budget has been steadily decreasing since Modi came to power in 2014.

On top of that your % Capital budget is miniscule as you spend around 30% of your defence budget for Salaries and another 25% for military pensions.

Yes, but there is a substantial emphasis on indigenization. The Indian Navy has achieved a 70% indigenous status, and regarding the Air Force, the Rafales mark the last imports. Henceforth, any fighter jet procured by the IAF will be locally manufactured. Tejas MK1 and MK2 will constitute a major part of the IAF fleet. This approach ensures that when procuring Indian-made weapons and platforms, the IAF won't have to concern itself with depleting forex reserves or fluctuations in the USD-to-INR exchange rate."

Indian defence budget number has been exaggerated. It is only 1.9% of their GDP.
Two percent of a 4 trillion dollar amount equates to 80 billion dollars.

More propaganda?

Indian Rupee has depreciated against the US Dollar from 60 INR in 2014 when Modi came to power to 84 INR today.

So both your buying power from the foreign countries and your % of Defence budget has been going down consistently.

With regards to "indigenous", all you are doing is assembling.

You have been doing this since the 1960s when you bought MIG-21 from the Soviets.

Indians are not skilled like the Chinese to reverse engineer and learn.

You will just keep doing your screw driver tech paying high dollars in the name of ToT.

Then why is 65% of the payment for the LCA Tejas being conducted in Indian rupees? If it's not manufactured in India, shouldn't the payment be in USD instead?
