The World Bank has allowed India to move ahead with two hydroelectric power facilities on tributaries of the Jhelum and Chenab rivers, a decision taken at the conclusion of secretary-level talks between Pakistan and India on Indus Water Treaty.

World Bank, which brokered the 1960 water treaty between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, said New Delhi is allowed to construct Kishanganga and Ratle dams with certain restrictions under the treaty.

"The decision was taken in light of the reservations put forth by the Pakistani delegation," the world lender said in a fact sheet.

"Among other uses, India is permitted to construct hydroelectric power facilities on these rivers subject to constraints specified in annexures to the treaty."

The Kishanganga Hydroelectric Plant is an $864 million dam which is part of a run-of-the-river hydroelectric scheme that is designed to divert water from the Kishanganga River to a power plant in the Jhelum River basin.

Falls nicely in with India's plans to maximise its allotocation of water under IWT that had long been under-utilised.

Gilgit se Gwadar ek boond paani hai milega

After that India will play gilli danda..
Too much frustration..
First try to know who has taken this issue to WB..
But if world bank is baised now we have other options open

WB works here as a broker as per IWT.Other than WB has no role or say in it.It's 100% India-Pakistan thing.I am sure both sides had pressed it's logic & WB gave justifiable solution.
India is just using own share of water. No more & no less.
Also your govt had been incompetent in making dams.Share your blame on them too.

Go ahead , who is stopping you guys? Simple
These people think threat of war can make us give away our claim.. Now Punjab -Haryana water dispute is back and we need that water for entire north india.
But if world bank is baised now we have other options open
"Adalate kabza nahi dilwati, kabze liye jate ha chhati ke zor pe"

if water is stopped Pakistan should do preemptive nuclear strike on whole india
