ISLAMABAD - With the induction of Syed Tahir Shahbaz as the new chairman of Capital Development Authority, work on 11 mega projects at Lake View Entertainment Zone has picked up momentum.
For the first time in three years, Ahmed Humayun Toru, Director Project Management Office (PMO) and Manager Projects Ghulam Hafeez visited the zone to review progress.
Lack of interest and bureaucratic tactics had slowed down pace of work on these projects where professionals have invested millions after being given land on lease by the CDA several years ago. During his recent visit, Toru assured investors on behalf of CDA chairman that all hurdles will be removed to fully develop the zone.
The chairman is keen to see the zone come up, Toru said, adding CDA wanted to provide healthy and state-of-the-art entertainment facilities to Islamabads residents. The new additions at the zone will be horse riding, car racing, music emporium, kids joy land, pony ride, golf driving range, rock climbing, paint ball, dirt biking,F1 track and childrens activity area.
Adil Shah, the founder president of Lake View Entertainment Projects Association welcomed CDAs newfound enthusiasm. Once fully up, this place will present Pakistans soft image to the international community. Adil told the CDA officials he would help resolve all pending issues related to CDA. He said the Islamabad Polo Club, one of the mega projects in the zone, will be the first private sector facility of its kind in Asia.
Under the auspices of Horse & Horseman Company, the club will come up with ambitious programmes and hold international tournaments, He said Rawal lake entertainment zone is the brain child of Project management office CDA should give full authority to PMO for the smooth sailing of the Eleven projects. The CDA Chairman will be invited for oath-taking ceremony of the association soon, he said.
