Security forces foil car bomb attack in Quetta

QUETTA: Action by police and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) on Tuesday resulted in the recovery of a huge amount of explosives and communication equipment, DawnNews reported.

According to security sources a vehicle of the LEAs was on routine patrol on Zarghoon road when a suspicious car was stopped by the security personnel.

Police found the car’s trunk laden with explosives, upon conducting a search of the vehicle.

FC personnel took the car into custody and arrested the driver.

The bomb disposal squad reached the spot and defused the bomb.

Acting on the information provided by the arrested suspect, security personel conducted a search operation and recovered a huge quantity of explosives, hand grenades, detonators and walky-talky communication sets, whereas another suspected was taken under arrest.

During initial investigations, the suspects confessed that the explosives were intended to be used to target government sites and key personalities.

Bramadagh Bugti provided one million for May 14 attack on FC

Quetta: Police and law enforcement agencies on Monday foiled a terror attack in Quetta, a metropolitan of Pakistan’s province Balochistan, after they apprehended two suspected miscreants and recovered huge amount of explosives and ammunition.

Sources said that miscreants during the investigation revealed that Baloch Republican Party leader Bramdagh Bugti, who is recently in Switzerland, has given them one million rupees for the blast on May 14 at Aalmo Chowk area of Quetta, which killed several people including Frontier Constabulary personnel.

“The miscreants also unfold facts about different terror attacks in Balochistan, including Quetta,” they said adding that the criminals wanted to attack high profile govt offices at Jinnah road area of Quetta in their next attack.

Earlier the policemen, during snap checking at Zarghoon road in Quetta, tried to stop a suspected car but it cross the police barricade. The policemen followed the car and later arrested a suspected miscreant.

The miscreant who was a resident of Mand area of Turbat, a city of Pakistan’s province Balochistan, was identified as Danish s/o Ghulam Mohammad. After thorough investigation from Danish, the police raided Sariab Mill and Shal Kot areas of Quetta and arrested another miscreant named Khalid Bugti and 19 other suspicious people.

The police recovered heavy explosive devices, hand grenades and rocket launchers from the car and the Bugti’s house.

The bomb disposable Squad was summoned at the spot in order to diffuse the explosive materials
