I was working for a multinational company and had a few minutes earlier checked into the PC hotel at lahore. The valet insisted on carrying my hand luggage to my room.
Once inside he turned on the lights and TV, l gave him a tip and then sat on the bed and started flipping channels and stopped at CNN. There was a plume of smoke coming out of tower1, and everyone thought a small plane had rammed into the building.
I started watching it and after a few minutes saw a large aircraft slam into tower2 and there was a huge ball of fire.
My 1st words were "holy shite" and just then the phone rang. It was my colleague asking me to switch the TV on. I replied I'm watching it live.
I forgot everything and was glued to the TV for the next 2 to 3 hours until the twin towers collapsed.
Much later we found out that AQ had accepted responsibility and 18 Arabs (saudis, egyptians and algerians ) were responsible for this carnage / tradegy.
The world has never been the same again.
