I personally can't say I'm a huge fan of it, or the artist that made it.

That's good actually. Although it's not that good as other portraits, like George Bush Senior, Regan. That still looks good. It has a meaning to it too.

Dunno. Looks like subtle racism with all those leaves around a black guy giving it an African jungle look.

First Lady's is good, choosing that particular dress of hers was a masterstroke, full of symbolism. As such, the face doesn't need to be accurate, it's the politics portrayed here that are important.

The President's portrait is not to my taste: the head looks pasted on, the hands are too big, and where did the back arm of the chair go? That artist seems to go out of his way to make errors of art that make people stare at his paintings longer, just so they can figure out everything wrong with it. Fine for art school instruction, not so great in a president's portrait. So I predict that the definitive portrayal of President Barrack Obama will remain this one from his campaign:

You guys are overthinking it. The painter of this portrait is black himself.

Its black history month aint it?

You wont understand. Its ok.

Nice portrait. Is he still in office?

It's likely meant as homage to Obama's Kenyan and Hawaiian roots but it's not as well executed as it could have been. Look at those feet, for example: Obama's poised to stomp on a violet.
