VW has lately published its 2019 numbers... they failed to be the first car producer selling 11million cars a year but they beat Toyota for biggest car producer.

1. VW sold 10.97million vehicles (+1.3%)
2. Toyota sold 10.74million vehicles (+1.4%)
3. Renault-Nissan sold 10.16million vehicles (-5.6%)
Nissan is facing massive problems

VW had a turnover of 252,6 billion € ( $281,22 billion)
That is about the same number as the 2019 GDP (nominal) of Pakistan

I think he means that VW has had trouble getting their models back in the list of the top 25 cars sold in the US because they got a bad reputation in the 1990’s for making crappy cars.

It’s been quite a struggle. You used to see Passats and Golfs all over the place but then sales tanked.

Not quite sure what you mean by the numbers.

Total new car sales in the US in 2019 was 17M of which about 350,000 were brands owned by Volkswagen.
