Nobody did transform overnight. All of the developing countries have such problems, it just may take longer time if you are home to 1.4 billion people.

What does this have to do with being a superpower? Russia was called a superpower decades ago. However would you want to switch your living conditions in non-superpower Canada today for the typical Russian living conditions in the 1950's when Russia was first considered a superpower? Of course not. You wouldn't even switch living conditions in Canada in the 1950's for 1970's Russia.

Why are you surprised? China is a developing country, and it has never claimed otherwise.

Old quarters everywhere disappearing very fast just as the guy in the video says and the west accuses China of evicting people from their old houses, funny thing is that the western report always love to dwell on China's so called ghost towns and don't know that those photos are very often the neighborhoods for relocation programs before being occupied.
