Venezuela and Russia to Hold Joint Operational Military Exercises
Caracas, Dec 10 (Prensa Latina) Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino on Monday welcomed the Russian Air Force that arrived in Venezuela to participate in the 2018 joint operations exercise.
During the opening ceremony, the Venezuelan Minister stressed that both nations are building true friendship in all areas, with special focus on military development.
The 2018 Russia-Venezuela joint operational flights represent a strength demonstration aimed at the integration of aviation assets, in terms of technical cooperation and the exchange of experiences, explained Padrino.
Padrino, who was at the Simon Bolivar International Airport, in Maiquetia, Varga state, together with the Superior General Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB), said that 'nobody in the world is afraid due to the presence of logistical planes landing on Venezuelan territory, we are peace-makers, not warmongers'.
'We are ready to defend Venezuela, to the last inch if necessary, we will do it with our friends, who defend respectful relations between states', the minister added.
Russian Ambassador in Caracas Vladimir Zaemskiy ponted out that one of the cooperation areas between the two nations is the military, 'it has developed successfully in recent years', the diplomat stressed.
