Hugo Chavez picks up Iran's S-300 missiles
Posted By Brian Fung Thursday, June 17, 2010 - 12:44 PM Share
Just days after it agreed not to sell advanced anti-aircraft weaponry to Iran, Russia turned around and sealed a deal on the S-300 surface-to-air missile with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. The arms sale is part of a $2.2 billion military loan package provided by Moscow, and it has at least one observer worried that the missiles will mysteriously wind up in Iranian hands:

I wonder what are chances for freight price from Venezuella to Iran these days $2000 dollars?

No problem, Russians have another trick to pacify iranian..atleast from altitude of 30 thousand feet, it looks like real thing. Enough to scare potential "israeli" pilot. Ahmedinejad said they were so timid they wont dare attacked after seeing this air defence system.

Venezuela had expressed a desire for the S300 a long time ago. l doubt they will give it up for Iran. Especially with Chavez rattling his saber with Columbia right now.

It may be worrying for the US and its allies but not for those who are fighting the US hegemony. For them it is an opportunity.

I'm sure Russia wouldn't be happy if their technology was passed on like that, which makes me balieve that Venezuela would not jeopardize potential future purchases by passing or selling technology.
