ISRO recently launched Astrosat with multiple UV telescopes, while the same kind is used for missile tracking from space. If not already launched DRDO-ISRO must cooperate on this to make a network of satellites.

@RiazHaq @Windjammer what do you guys thinks?

GISAT is coming guys, its just beginning. BTW we dont need to worry about western missile launches because most of them tend to explode in their own territory

USA has similar, that too geostationary sat lite constellations for detecting missile launch using IR spectrum censors. They are known by DSP(defense support program) rec satellites. The main advantages of such geostationary satellite is that we need barely two or three to cover Pakistan airspace, cost effective and full uninterested 24 hours a day full coverage.

No it can't be used for missile launch detection, do you know the reason why we(entire science community in world) are keeping UV telescope in outer space? Atmosphere is an opaque medium to UV radiations. No earth based instrument can detect UV radiation coming from outer space, similarly no space based instrument can detect UV radiation coming from earth. The ozone layer and thick atmosphere will filter out such UV radiations.

Please correct the title to "UV Telescope for Missile Launch Detection".
Thanks for correction.

Waste of money for poor bhartis
Pakistani missile's are equipped with stealth shield similar to level of Hovercraft in Avenger movie:D
Thats why I tagged those two experts, what to read their views. :D

I still remember how they partied when this happened...

Thats why I want to hear their expert voice. where are you hiding @Windjammer ?? @RiazHaq

We have some IR sensors in space, I think those in conjunction with IR sensor can make good missile launch detection system.

I think GSAT-7's that large cylinder has something to do with this... they did not revealed.
