WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF IT?

ISLAMABAD: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has granted $12 million for the construction of the Waran Canal System.
“Water is one of the biggest constraints on agriculture and economic growth in Pakistan,” said USAID Country Director Jock Conly at the launch ceremony on September 12.
“We hope to increase employment opportunities and income for local communities by funding this project,” he added.
The project, which aims to irrigate 28,000 acres of land in Tank, will be implemented by Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).Currently, the main source of water for the area comes during the monsoon season.
The Gomal Zam Dam is also part of the same initiative by the US. The dam is hoped to generate electricity for 39,000 households, store irrigation water, and provide flood protection for Tank and DI Khan districts.

New ways to fool & kill many Pakistani secretly while showing that US is helping Pakistan, I don’t want to start again we all know what US have in their mind.

Kala Bagh Dam & Bhasha Dam are VERY Important for Pakistan & these dams should be constructed as soon as possible. Of course US, World Bank & other Banks will not fund Pakistan for these two projects, so the contract should be given to China.

The initiative is good, but poorly timed.
Not to mention WAPDA's fiscal management is questionable at best. $12 million worth of questions.

What they want to is to improve American image among the Pakistani populace, a tough ask in the given circumstances.

What does these infidels think that by investing in local infrastructure and making peoples life easier they can win our hearts well they are wrong.

We only appreciate and respect Arabs whose Money is used to destroy local infrastructure and kill Pakistanis these Americans have the nerve giving money to better the life's of 1000s how dumb do they think we are.

@Safriz, plz don't misreport or twist the news to suit your own requirement. OR if you are unaware of the location then first confirm it and then post the news.

The project is being conducted in Tank Distt, which is not a part of SWA and has nothing to do with it. Its a separate District of the KPK province and administered by the Chief Minister.

So, plz next time, be careful .

It is not a matter of the US image.

There is a real danger of the increasing scarcity of resources leading to social unrest in a nuclear armed country. Hence, USA is trying to be proactive wherever possible in trying to reduce these pressures. It is simply good long term policy.
