US to Pakistan: Improve ties with Delhi, Kabul
| Islamabad’s efforts for peace downplayed by Washington | Doubting Pak role against terrorism will not be helpful, US told
July 24, 2017/ 1 Comment
ISLAMABAD - The United States has asked Pakistan to improve its ties with India and Afghanistan as Washington was not happy with Islamabad’s efforts for regional peace, The Nation has learnt.

A senior official at the foreign ministry said that Washington was clearly standing with New Delhi and Kabul downplaying Islamabad’s efforts for regional peace.

“It is sad they don’t want to acknowledge our anti-terror successes. They are repeating the ‘do more’ mantra. We believe now India and Afghanistan have to do more. We are doing what we can,” he told The Nation.

The official said that the US wanted Pakistan to initiate dialogue with India and Afghanistan to improve ties.

“We have told them Pakistan has always wanted a dialogue but both India and Afghanistan were not responding,” he added.

Over the weekend, Pentagon withheld $50 million to be paid under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF) to Pakistan.

US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said at a meeting of the US Congressional defence committee that he was unable to verify Pakistan’s efforts against the Haqqani network.

For a year now, Pakistan and India have been involved in tension.

The new phase of tension started after the killing of freedom fighter Burhan Wani in July last.

The Uri attack in which 19 Indian soldiers died, threatened a war.

The conviction of Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav by a military court added fuel to the fire resulting in skirmishes along the Line of Control (LoC).

Afghanistan also has been accusing Pakistan of sheltering the militants and doing little to eliminate their hideouts.

Pakistan denies the allegation and has been supporting efforts for Afghan peace.

Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry said Islamabad was engaged in an unprecedented war against terrorism.

About the withholding of funds by the Pentagon, Chaudhry said that the money was not aid but a reimbursement of the expenses incurred by Pakistan against Pakistan and US joint fight against terrorism.

Another official at the foreign ministry told The Nation, that Pakistan had told the US that doubting Pakistan’s role against terror would not be helpful.

“The world knows we have sacrificed a lot in the war on terror. The US also acknowledges it but it is strange they [the US] are toeing the Indian line,” he added.

The official said that Pakistan would not give up its right to CSF and would try to convince the US to release the funds as soon as possible.

International relations expert Dr Rashid Ahmed said that the US was supporting India in the region to capture its massive trade market.

“The US gives priority to India in its new policy. Pakistan is behind India and Afghanistan. The US is not even pressing India to stop the bloodshed in Kashmir despite knowing everything,” he said.

Ahmed said that India was also trying to deploy its troops in Afghanistan to join the Nato forces but the main agenda was to destabilise Pakistan.

Defence analyst Lt General Naeem Lodhi (retd) said that the US was annoyed with Pakistan due to its strong ties with China.

“They [the US] are trying to put pressure on Pakistan. The US support for [Indian] Prime Minister [Narendra] Modi is designed to corner Pakistan and then force it to bow to India’s superiority,” he said.

General Lodhi said that the US accepted Kashmir as a disputed territory but was not ready to speak about the Indian forces’ excesses.

“They want to break Pak-China friendship. The US is doing this for India and also for its own interest,” he maintained.

International relations expert Dr Talat Wizarat said that the recent visit of the US senators led by John McCain to Islamabad should to be seen as change in US policy towards Pakistan.

“This was only a routine visit. The US has trade interests in India so they are trying to destabilise the balance of power. They want to put India ahead in the region,” she said.

Dr Wizarat said that the US was mainly supporting India to stop China from becoming an economic power.

Consider Afghanistan an open enemy nation is not a friend of Pakistan but a hostile enemy. To hell with the US Donald can't even help his own citizens yet wants to dictate to the world?

So when Pakistan openly indicates and encourages to fence and seal the border with AFG and hold joint patrols this isn't regarded as an attempt to improve ties with AFG?

Trump Administration is full of Pu$$ies , first they were dance on Russian laps, now Indian Investments and payments start to speak :)
Does American got any Shame or Honor left ?

I do not know. Ask him if he can speak his mind

But yes Mr. Trump we will grab Kabul and Delhi by the pussy.

On the one hand you just boasted of grabbing India by the Pussy

But why do you become a Pussy Cat when we hit you on the LOC

That is a diplomatic norm. While PA is doing its job against the Indian army as expected.

Diplomatic norm is an excuse ; it is PA asking your FO to open a dialouge with India

“We have told them Pakistan has always wanted a dialogue but both India and Afghanistan were not responding,” he added.

See who is getting desperate for talks

On the one hand you just boasted of grabbing India by the Pussy

But why do you become a Pussy Cat when we hit you on the LOC

Why are you impatient?
And its normal procedure to officially submit a protest after a breach of ceasefire by the opposing party.

Seems Afghanistan and India playing tag team against Pakistan.

wait a mint
it's you who need to improve ties with Pakistan.
India is keep on violating the LOC Ceasefire Agreement and denying any international interfering in order to avoid ceasefire violation on the other end Afghanistan is still creating hurdles to secure the durand line using back channels. both are creating hurdles next to Pakistan to fight with terrorism and U.S wants do more. i mean have you gone mad or deliberately pretending that you dont know what's happening ?

it's simple. time has gone when U.S or any third country interfered into Pakistan foreign/diplomatic policies. we will dare to follow by our own.
for us resources does not matter, we ourselves are the biggest resource without us no one can get peace. if you think you are the bloody hell to destroy us then wait for your own destruction. CPEC is simple which we are going to build. come next to us if you have courage to destroy it. we will make sure your total destruction with WW3. if you cant see our prosperity then let us destroy the whole world.

write down my words & put in your devil mind we are going to down you, if you keep confronting with us. we are destroyer of world's power. go to hell you yanks/vedantist.

CPEC has nothing to do either with Imran or Nawaz. but still Pakistan will have only Democracy with tight hands on neck to ultimate Rein their Corruption/back channels/traitors.

we are just fighting to defend our self and prepared to fight back outside our territory, because two front war is being imposed on us so we are retaliating with all front & already engulfed the enemy with our allies, so that enemy cant get more space.. now it's up to enemy either stay away from our interest or be ready for their own destruction.

we committed to help U.S. we are the man of our words that is why we are helping U.S in Afghanistan in order to get rid of militancy not only in our soils but also in Afghanistan. but yet we are not responsible for anybody incompetence, India is actively involved to sabotage CPEC and our interest in Afghanistan, neither we committed with India nor with Indian ally to safeguard their interest in Afghanistan But only U.S if U.S really with us. it's as simple as cup of tea. and now we are waiting for U.S difficult moves.
